Banksy Applause Print, by ricosg11 on Mar 7, 2007 3:04:54 GMT 1, Two near $7000usd. in the last week or so. Any thoughts? Onei was a zero feedbacker. Seems like quite a spike in price. Think this is reaction to sothebys? I gotta say I know this one isnt so popular but i gotta say i think its my fave of all his work.

Banksy Applause Print, by tranceport185 on Mar 7, 2007 17:16:00 GMT 1, Just my 2 cents which are obvious but things to keep in mind when you think about the popularity of this print is the size of it. I just took mine to the framer and framed its a monster. Down the road I think it will gain popularity but the print costs a lot to frame and you have to have almost a full wall to dedicate to it which might be some of the big reasons the print seems to flood ebay thus reducing the sale price. But even still it is odd how many are on the bay every week ....

Very true, I think it's the same with Judgement Day... can't believe how many of those beauties turn up on eBay

Both are outstanding prints, but JD is more frame friendly IMO.

Banksy Applause Print, by Curley on Mar 8, 2007 9:00:23 GMT 1, I gotta say i love this print, the sheer size is what makes it work. It would be no where near as good or have the impact if it was 50x70

Banksy Applause Print, by wemadethemlaugh on Jul 25, 2007 13:03:43 GMT 1, All,
Hello. First post! I have a signed Applause I'm interested in selling and genuinly have signed up here to see if anybody on the forum would be interested prior to an e-bay listing. This is completely genuine....I have a value in mind and thought it prudent to give someone on here an opportunity to discuss.
Thanks for listening!

Banksy Applause Print, by slinkink on Apr 19, 2007 16:49:12 GMT 1, and to be completely honest not as much in them as you might think. certainly nothing at all like the laz 'books' that go with the exhibitions in soho... not to say they aren't worth getting since they show a good cross section of some of the more desirable prints available as well as some originals etc... not trying to put anyone off getting one since i got one at the 'show' and with some of the money going to charity it is much better value for money..

Banksy Applause Print, by corblimeylimey on Apr 19, 2007 19:45:36 GMT 1, Book on ebay 250104768555 at £133 with about an hour to go.
Check out his wording, makes it sound a lot better than it is, especially the bit about "created for Banksy" I haven't got or seen the book but I get the idea that it's only about 32pages, can someone confirm?
Sellers description....
THIS IS AN EXTREMELY RARE MINT CONDITION EXHIBITION BOOK CREATED FOR BANKSY WHICH CONTAINS IMAGES OF ALL OF HIS WORK OLD AND NEW, WITH THE DATES WHEN THEY WERE PRODUCED. MEASURED APPROX. 20CM X 20CM. THERE IS ONLY A FEW OF THESE BOOKS AROUND AND THEY WERE UNAVAILABLE TO BUY EXCEPT AT HIS PRIVATE EXHIBITION IN LONDON. THE BOOK IS PRINTED ON TEXTURED CARD AND FEATURES IMAGES OF THE FOLLOWING (PLEASE SEE IMAGES FOR A FEW EXAMPLES):
FULL PAGE IMAGES OF:
- ROADWORK RAT - HEAVY WEAPONRY - 3 EXCELLENT IMAGES OF LAUGH NOW (CHIMP AS ON COVER) - RADAR RATS - LOVE RAT - GANGSTA RAT X 2 - BECAUSE IM WORTHLESS RAT - WELCOME TO HELL RAT - GET OUT WHILE YOU CAN RAT - LOVE IS IN THE AIR - LOVE IS IN THE AIR WITH PARAMOUNT STARS - KIDS ON GUNS - PULP FICTION - MONKEY QUEEN - CHRIST WITH SHOPPING BAGS - GRANNIES - BOMB HUGGER - GRIN REAPER - HAPPY CHOPPERS - KATE (MOSS) - MORONS - DESTROY CAPITALISM - JACK AND JILL - DI FACED NOTES - QUEEN VIC - NAPALM x2 - SALE ENDS - CND SOLDIERS - TROLLEY HUNTERS - RUDE COPPER (AS SHOWN) - RUDE COPPER 2 - TOXIC VIRGIN - SOUP CAN - SOUP CAN ORIGINAL - SOUP CANS COLOURED (AS SHOWN) - HAVE A NICE DAY
THIS IS THE MOST EXCLUSIVE BANKSY BOOK EVER PRODUCED AND EXTREMELY RARE. THE IMAGES IN IT ARE SO HIGH QUALITY THAT YOU CAN SCAN THEM IN AND PUT THEM UP AS PRINTS IF YOU CAN'T AFFORD THE REAL THING. KEEP THIS FOR THE FUTURE THOUGH, ITS GOING TO BE WORTH AN ABSOLUTE MINT.
I HAVE HAD HIGH OFFERS ALREADY FOR IT, BUT I WILL START THIS AUCTION LIKE ALL OF MY OTHERS AT £5 NO RESERVE. CHECK MY FEEDBACK IF IN DOUBT. THE BOOK WILL BE SENT BY ROYAL MAIL IN A BOMB PROOF ENVELOPE. THANKS FOR LOOKING. NON PAYING BIDDERS WILL BE REPORTED. GOOD LUCK!

Banksy Applause Print, by BK83 on Apr 19, 2007 20:27:21 GMT 1, Yeh CBL, I ordered from Andipa a while ago now -- off hand I think it's 32 pages and it's just high res pics of the pieces that were for sale along with some descriptions (signed/unsigned, edition number, materials on the canvases, etc.) It was well worth the USD$40 (total) I paid to purchase it and have it shipped over here, but theres no way this shoulod be going for anywhere near USD$250 (130 GBP) thats just mental!!! I mean noone even knows for sure how limited the print run was and whether or not it will be reprinted if they sell out. WILD!

Nice one, best laugh of the day reading that.
I have a copy of the afformentioned item and to say that the sellar has embellished facts would be an understatement.
i have one it was £15, its nice.
it would have been a much better book if they had actual photographs of the prints they were selling, it would have been far more interesting to see them in the frames and on walls rather than the stock pow stye pics.
still funny to read though ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Banksy Applause Print, by jboy on Apr 20, 2007 22:13:46 GMT 1, Hi, its really funny to see people talking about this auction and i am glad people liked my description, which is in no way untrue. Its better than putting something that bores people and i had emails offering me more than the final amount, but it would be against ebay rules to end it early as you all know.
This was a full description of what was in the book, you would not describe it as just a brown book would you? People want to know what is in it.
The book was put on at £5 so it could have gone for this, there was no reserve so i could have made a loss but thats the gamble. I did not ask someone to bid that amount of money for it, but that is ebay for you. One of these books was sold a few weeks ago while the exhibition was still on and it sold for over £30 then.
I bought the book for £15 like everyone else on here did, so it is my property and i can do what i wish with it.
Anyway, it is not me that you should be talking about, its those people that have picked up on the idea and started putting them on for buy it now at £150 you should be poking. I never asked for someone to pay that amount for it and they are.
Please don't judge people like that, i enjoy reading the threads on here and i am very surprised at everyone and slightly annoyed.
thanks.
