Banksy Morons Print, by Ågentßacardi on Mar 30, 2007 9:44:55 GMT 1, Gutted! Still none on ebay either! Strange. Looks like I will never get this print. Bummer.
Well the email that POW sent out (which I received 2 hours after 3pm BST ) stated that if they saw anyone flogging the prints on the bay immediately (before they even receive the print), they'll cancel the order. So I guess all the potential tossers and baggers have read the fine print!
Once people start receiving the prints though (which could be as soon as today, judging from past accounts), it'll be an entirely different story!

Oh, you can bet that the chances of at least one appearing on the bay (after receipt) is a solid one hundred percent! 500 unsigned + 150 signed + 300 sepia = 950 prints altogether. There's bound to be some baggers in there!

Banksy Morons Print, by klaxon on Mar 30, 2007 10:05:42 GMT 1, EMAIL TO POW
Hi there,
I just though Id vent my disappointment with you guys. I'm obviously gutted that I missed out on Banksy, having been through the ordering process 5 times, crashing out at payment three times, thereby wasting a good four hours of my time, before your site folded under the pressure.
I appreciate the load the site must have been under, but this isn't the first time your site has folded when selling Banksy's. Would it not make sense to test the site before with dummy transactions and test the load of the system. Ticketmaster seem to do a pretty good job channeling people into a queing system. I'd rather wait an hour on a 'please wait in a queue screen' then hoping one connection will get me through. If you can't be trusted to sell Banksy prints in the most efficient and responsible way, then the privilige of doing so should be taken away, and outsourced to a company capable of doing so.
I understand the release of the email was to give everyone a fair crack at getting a print, and POW should be commended for this and your stance on touts. However, it served only to increase the frustration, time delays, confusion and anger at the time of release due to the increased traffic to the site. If your commitment to a fair playing field is true, perhaps you can explain the reasoning behind the site coming back live at 1:30am UK time. There was no email going out, or attempt to consider those who may have been asleep, tired from hours of pressing F5. If you could have said that prints would have been available from 2pm today that would have given everyone enough time to prepare for it (UK and abroad), and make it fair. In my opinion you've been short-sighted with your release strategy (again!)
Perhaps you would consider using your new anti-tout computer to block those who have bought a moron print. This would be quite radical I know, but those who already have a banksy print, should be happy and gracious enough to understand that there are so many other people who would love just one print, any print. By doing this you would increase our chances somewhat.
I'm extremely disappointed with you as a company. You seem to be running an ad-hoc operation, and I know my sentiment is shared by many of forums across the internet. Whilst I appreciate your hard work bringing artists work to the forefront of the scene, I can't help but feel the hype and hysteria of certain artists has gotten too big for you to handle and you should seek to remedy the problems you have with your site, and seek to level the playing field even more than you are currently doing.
I hope this doesnt sound to bitter. I'm dissapointed more than anything. I know I'll end up with a Banksy print. Except this one, I'll be looking on eBay for, when you release your prints.
Kind regards,
Tom

Banksy Morons Print, by corblimeylimey on Mar 30, 2007 10:07:38 GMT 1, i am right royaly pissed at this moment in time I really do hope we see a backlash to anyone that puts one of these straight on to ebay. Damn you all
Not the only backlash you may see, I'm getting pissed off with POW, and the droves of people who buy everything going there.
Apart from a Banksy Trolley Hunters print, I think all my future print buying will be else where, might be tempted with a titifreak, but with originals being available in other countries for around £260 I doubt it.
www.iconoclastusa.com/store/bycategory.asp?id=1036
been there the whole time and for half the price, can't believe the mindless droves rushed in and snapped them all up from POW, in my mind it really sums it all up.

Why? it's been brought up on here before, I've even posted a pic of the Drafted print, no one seemed interested.

Banksy Morons Print, by slowmo on Mar 30, 2007 10:18:46 GMT 1, Its an interesting change in tactics from POW. The Beautiful Losers is the first time I know of when they have been secondary dealers, making a mark up on art they purchased on their website.
I know they have done it at the Ghetto before, but interesting no?

I guess they'll only know when it arrives, I hope it's a forum member who can post a pic up of it here (not on ebay) it'll be nice to see that it actually exists.

Banksy Morons Print, by alvington89 on Mar 30, 2007 10:35:04 GMT 1, 'Beautiful Losers' is a bit of a mixed bag. The only one I vaguely like is Kyoto Street. Some mutch better stuff is available from the scrawl collective. Particularly Nick Purser. I suppose now that Beatiful Losers has had the POW endorsment this is what is makingthese print attractive to the scalper brigade. All that stuff was available from SG.

Agree with your sentiments CBL, but I reckon we'll all be back to PoW just in case we get lucky next time (I didn't this time and am still narked). Regarding Beautiful Losers I didn't buy mine from the states because they quoted 99 dollars postage, which I thought was well steep. Most of the Beautiful' images are not great though and I think that most have been bought with ebay in mind. More fool them though because they may prove difficult to re-sell. I hope so.

I think some of the insect stuff is producted by themselves, and Stanley Donwood does his own printing also

Banksy Morons Print, by jellya on Mar 30, 2007 10:56:32 GMT 1, Interesting morning for me. Up with the children as usual at about 6.30 and then realised what was going on. Managed to get an unsigned in a basket and tried to pass it on to someone on the forum. Unfortunately that didn't work and someone else got it.
I'm glad I wasn't the one told in person over the phone last night that they'd gone.
With CBL and have been for while, there's much more to be had elsewhere and at a fraction of the price & hassle

So today wasn't as bad as the 29th, at least we're not sat pressing refresh.
