Whilst there have no doubt been heinous atrocities carried out in both sides, the beheaded babies story surfaced hours ago an there is still no confirmation/evidence. When considering the origin of the story and the amount of row back since from the original reporter it's looking increasingly like a hasbara operation.

If there are indeed photos then I have no desire to see them. However, I'd say they are conspicuous by their absence on the cesspit that is X / Twitter. There do appear to be reports from the Israeli army suggesting there's no confirmation. No doubt there will be misinformation and propaganda spread by both sides, in order to justify actions.

Not saying one is better than the other. But one thing  is for sure ... Israel isn't  sinless and Hamas are terrorists.

I can't get my head around having to take sides in this conflict. It seems to me that to do so is to prioritise prejudice ahead of morals. There are innocent people deliberately being slaughtered on both sides and whichever way you look at it that is wrong. There's no excuse for ignoring the abhorrence from a preferred side whilst condemning the same from the other. Both are committing war crimes. Both are annihilating indiscriminately. There is no moral or ethical high ground being taken here.

Seems unlikely, he supports the oppressed, not the oppressive. 

After years of land grab and imprisonment and attack, its no real shock they fight back, Ukraine did the same, just the enemy is different so so is the rhetoric.

I'm genuinely shocked how so many 'civilised' people celebrate acts of depravity. As with so many previous atrocities here, these images will be embedded on my brain for life. Murdering innocent kids at a music festival is horrific. Dropping a bomb on an apartment block full of innocent kids is horrific. There are no winners here. There is nothing to celebrate.

Regarding whether we should be discussing it on here, or not. I think the answer is yes. Banksy didn't put a hotel in Palestine to sell hotel rooms, or art. It was to bring knowledge of the situation to a wider audience. If we turn away when it gets ugly, we are basically just buying souvenirs. (That said, I don't support talk of print availability, etc).

Israel is the one single democracy in the entire middle east, where Arabs/Palestinians have voting rights and even have seats in the Knesset. Israel has a population of 20% Arabs who enjoy the same rights as everyone in Israel.

Palestine has zero Jews living there, because they would immediately be slaughtered. 

When Israel takes out terrorist bases in Palestine, they first drop a 'knock' bomb on the building to make sure everyone can get out safely, before demolishing it.

There is one beacon of freedom, democracy and hope for a people that have been hunted and persecuted for hundreds of years. And there is one terrorist nazi state that has in all these years never wanted peace and prosperity, but voted in a terrorist government that uses all the billions and billions of aid they have gotten over the years to build tunnels, buy rockets and fund terrorism.

Who is it going to be brutal on?  Palestinian civilians?  Are they going to give the women and children a good pounding?  In that case, they lose all of the intellectual moral high ground. 

Unlike Hamas, the IDF doesn't murder women and children on purpose. The IDF does everything in its power to minimize civilian casualties. So no, they aren't going to give women and children a good pounding.

They hopefully ARE going to eradicate every terrorist and terrorist sympathiser from Palestine so their borders can finally be relatively safe without living under the constant threat of thousands and thousands of murderers in close proximity.

Imagine how easy it is to people living in a one of the most densely populated parts of the world, with very high level of poverty, where another country has the power to instantly cut off all food water electricity and fuel. And it goes like this for dacades. 
4. A bit off-topic. Probably not many people here know that for the last 20 months people ar dying at the Poland-Belarus border. Illegal migrants mistakenly convinced by Belarus regime are sent to cross the borders. Polish forces push them back. So they are just stuck there. Many died. Is there an easy solution to this? Not really.

For you it is just collateral damage.  For the people there, it is the reality.  From my perspective, all I have ever wanted was peace for EVERYBODY in the area.  Israel has had the upper hand for well over 50 years, but they couldn't make it happen.  Moments like this, in history, are the result.  Going forward, does Israel 'find' the peace or do they exacerbate the problem?

But when one side makes every effort humanly possible to minimize civilian casualties, while the other site ruthlessly murders civilians in the most barbaric ways and has this as their states desire and goal in their existence, it's not that hard for me to 'pick a side'.

Israel has talked about peace for literal decades, with Palestine refusing EVERY proposed solution by neutral peace-brokers. 

Here's all you really need to know about Israel: If Israel was given a genie in a bottle with one single wish, they would wish for peace and to be left alone by their neighbours. If you gave that genie in a bottle to Palestine, Syria, Iran, Irak, there would be no Jew left on the face of this planet.

The country you are talking about (Palestine) has brought this upon themselves by electing terrorists in their government and hating people of a different faith then theirs. 

Do you know how many billions in 'aid' Palestine has gotten over the last decades? What did they spent these billions on, you think? Peace and prosperity for their people? Or weapons and terrorism?

Do you know the coast of Palestine is beautiful and real estate developers want nothing more than to develop the area and bring tourism there, boosting their economy? But the chose this.

They democratically chose a terrorist leadership and decided to wage a holy war against the Jews (and Christians for all that matters here). They fucked around and now, finally, after decades of Israeli restraint, are going to find out.

And don't get me wrong. I fucking hate the fact that this is happening. My hope has always been that the people of Palestine would elect a moderate leadership that worked towards peace. They had every chance in the past eight decades to do so. But they didn't. They don't want peace. They want every Jew on the planet dead. There's where all both sides moralism goes out of the window.
