Banksy • Sale Ends Today, by Lord Lucas Roham on Jan 29, 2022 1:27:25 GMT 1, This is the late November 2020 Artnet auction that was mentioned on previous posts. This print clearly has 3 digits albeit difficult to read.
www.artnet.com/auctions/artists/banksy/sale-ends-v2-2
Not sure what to make of all this.

Banksy • Sale Ends Today, by littlewren on Jan 29, 2022 17:42:11 GMT 1, One thing I’ve always wondered. Is the LA version any less desirable? Reason I ask, is it sort of was part of a set of 6. So if you only have one, you wouldnt have the complete set, so it would feel less complete and be less desirable? What is the consensus ?
Surely not less desirable for that reason? but people will have their preferences over the different versions of course. I actually prefer the LA version due to the hand-sprayed style of printing. The LA version is also considerably rarer than v.2 and I think that would always make up for any lack of desirability.

Banksy • Sale Ends Today, by shambles79 on Feb 1, 2022 13:15:17 GMT 1, Hi I have this print and was one of the lucky ones who got it first time round. Currently I have it insured for 30,000 pounds. I just wondered if there is a website I can check to keep an eye on current and recent sales for this print. Starting to get a bit worried if it goes up anymore I won’t be able to afford to have it anymore.
many thanks

Banksy • Sale Ends Today, by STP on Feb 2, 2022 21:57:08 GMT 1, For what it’s worth, the unsigned LA prints were numbered from 51 up, with around 100+ of each image sold (there were more of certain images than others).
I can’t quite remember at what number the signed editions began, but I have an Applause numbered in the 30’s.
The remaining (unsigned and signed) editions subsequently printed by POW in the U.K. were numbered where the LA prints left off.

LA is better than POW and much more scarce.

Thanks for the input. This was my thinking too. But recently I discovered an unsigned Trolley print numbered 16/500 which is strange because it is the POW version of the image (see hammer in hunter's hand and POW blindstamp). Again, the only thing I can think is that if any numbers were unfulfilled back in LA, POW may well have allocated their version to said numbers at some point so as to make the edition complete.

If the unsigned LA versions were 51-150, POW would have used 1-50 and 151-500. The signed is a separate edition 1-150 in a mix of LA and POW (with very few LA). So the unsigned POW 16/500 fits.

Banksy • Sale Ends Today, by littlewren on Feb 14, 2022 20:19:23 GMT 1, lol hopefully someone more tech savvy than me can confirm whether any clone-stamp has been used to edit that edition number?! If not, you were extremely lucky to put a wanted ad on the forum in 2020 which resulted in you landing such a low edition number... You must know how and when the original owner acquired it? as it was not a lottery print.
Interesting that this falls within the signed LA version numbering though. If any numbers were unfulfilled back then, POW may well have allocated v.2's to said numbers at some point.
Also find it interesting that for someone with two of these prints in his family, you don't seem interested in engaging in a serious conversation about an issue that could prove/disprove your prints are 25% rarer than what we've been led to believe.
In the interest of transparency, since andypandy posted that photo of a Sale Ends v.2 which appears to be numbered 6/500, I have reached out to him multiple times to see if he would be willing to shed some light in regards to it's origins. Unfortunately, he has not replied. I am posting this for future reference as I don't believe his post should be considered decisive in this ongoing discussion.

14 years on this Forum and you think I am sending in photoshop images of print numbers? I dont have that type of time or those type of mental health issues.
I don't wish to engage into conversation about the origins of any of my collection.
It is not a big deal and the conversation doesn’t seem to be gaining much traction anyways.
If I have ruined any credibility that I may have previously built up since 2008 then hopefully with time I shall attempt to get over it.

Of course, that is your prerogative. It is not necessarily a big deal, but for someone who has been on this forum for 14 years, you are well aware that this was the original Banksy forum. And seeing as this is a Banksy related conundrum, I think it is fair that the questions are posed here. You engaged by posting an image of a print with a unique back story. I followed up, you decided to disengage. Fair enough. But followers should know there are still question marks hanging over this edition.

I apologise for any misunderstanding. I wasn’t persisting with the idea that your original image had been doctored. I was pretty satisfied that it hadn’t. What I was interested in is the print’s back story, as I have been led to believe an edition number this low wouldn’t have been part of the November 2017 release. I just thought you might have been able to clear that up by saying it must have been because the original owner provided you with the winning lottery email, original purchase receipt etc. or is it the case that the original owner bought it via Pest Control at a later date? When I said there are still question marks hanging over this edition, I meant the edition as a whole, not your specific print. Sorry again.

Banksy • Sale Ends Today, by acquiesce on Jun 17, 2022 0:32:40 GMT 1, As I wrote in a thread referenced above (https://urbanartassociation.com/post/1902441/thread) I believe the six unsigned LA prints are numbered ≈50-150. This almost fits your theory and also fits with the one numbered 120. Hey. I cannot disprove that right now as the lowest unsigned Sale Ends I've found is #51 and the highest now #120. But since we have seen v.2 #136 at Sotheby's, I still believe all LA versions of Sale Ends are sub 130. I have #56 from the LA Unsigned prints. All the research I have done does lead me to believe they ran #51-150 (100 prints) for that specific one. And I do believe the v2's to be 151-500 but haven't done as much research on that one.

Banksy • Sale Ends Today, by The Greased Piglet on Oct 12, 2022 5:07:32 GMT 1, That’s version 1 FYI. Pro tip if you’re trying to sell a price of paper for tens of thousands maybe snap a picture of the actual print it will give buyers far more confidence
