Really hope you two can do more art together and I hope you've got a plan to plant some irresistible flowers together when Spring arrives. Happy New Year dude.

War Boutique π¬π§ Metropolitan Peace β’ Art For Sale, by Coach on Feb 10, 2014 19:05:48 GMT 1, This is great news for War Boutique. His "The Great Game" has been aquired by the National Army Museum. I have to say that I am impressed that they aquired it, in view of the fact that WB's art often takes a satirical swipe at war. It's a fabulous piece, that I had the pleasure of seeing at the Herbert gallery show, War Peace and Reconcilliation.
I understand that the piece will be off to Dresden this summer, to be shown there.
WB, great artist in my opinion. I've said it before - if you ever get the chance to go to one of his artists talks, don't miss it - he is fascinating to listen to.
Interesting article about The Great Game here:

Recall seeing this piece on the forum during the show at the Herbert and thinking at the time that it was a clever and insightful work. Congratulations to WB and both the Army Museum and the Herbert for their free thinking and foresight.

War Boutique π¬π§ Metropolitan Peace β’ Art For Sale, by Deleted on Feb 15, 2014 0:32:54 GMT 1, Fascinating read Coach, a couple of years ago I thought he was an imitator or maybe too linked to Banksy style posturing, but I can see he's the absolutely the genuine article and really a very interesting artist. Looks like he will be taken seriously rarher than lumped in with "Urban Art" which can only be a good thing. Cheers for posting.

War Boutique π¬π§ Metropolitan Peace β’ Art For Sale, by Coach on Feb 15, 2014 0:50:24 GMT 1, I have been lucky enough to meet him a couple of times. He is a smashing chap. Funny and very generous with his time. And he really knows his stuff. Fascinating to listen to. I went to an artist talk by him, and it was enthraling.
One of my favorite pieces is the piece of armour from an Apache helicopter with the playstation logo painted on it. Brilliant. And his Maharishi collab riot track suit was great. The man is a great artist. One day I will hopefully buy an original.

Sadly a much harsher market to make it in.

War Boutique π¬π§ Metropolitan Peace β’ Art For Sale, by craigf on Feb 15, 2014 9:43:39 GMT 1, I have one of war boutiques clockwork soldier pieces on aluminium on the wall, poignant piece as all of his are. I think @badrobot 's point about his market being a hard one to make it in is true and I did wonder if the move to andipa would help or hinder this, their client list has deep pockets, but their pricing excludes some people who may well be interested in his work

War Boutique π¬π§ Metropolitan Peace β’ Art For Sale, by Happy Shopper on Jun 9, 2014 12:19:27 GMT 1, What is the real motivation for this print? This "Vote" thing seemed to start around the Obama campaign to get the youth voting, because artists knew the kids would vote for Obama and the US needed change. So, this print, in both colour ways, is there actually a point?
Always good to get out and vote, but is this just a money spinner now?

So, this print, in both colour ways, is there actually a point? Always good to get out and vote, but is this just a money spinner now? It's a fundamental decision, not just for us living in Scotland but for the UK as a whole and Europe. The colourways indicate what side of the fence you sit on;
Red, White and Blue - Better Together
Blue and White - Scottish Independence
So as 'different' as each are, WB has a purpose of choosing these coloourways. Be steady with your choice!

I suppose people who like art, and in this case, know WB would consider buying these. But for me and along with a number of other prints and originals that are produced by other artists, these are 'seasonal' or for 1 off events e.g. London Olympics gone now, Christmas themed prints to pull out for a month each year, topical news stories that were 'stencilled' etc.

Feels a bit like artists producing valentines prints just in time to give as gifts. Not really giving an opinion or anything to say! Know what I mean? War Boutique is Glaswegian and therefore has a vested interest in the future of Scotland. As well as being one of the more politically outspoken artists currently 'out there'. He is also a great person with an incredible back ground - I know for a fact that Banksy loves his work and owns many of War Boutique artworks.

But i dont see the questions oround prints. Them Bee ng good or bad or bought flipped etc.. the artist does what the artist needs to do in her work as an artist, and cant be bothered to care what people might think of the outcome. If we are talk ng about art and not for an excample design? In my experience artists do care about how their work is received.

War Boutique π¬π§ Metropolitan Peace β’ Art For Sale, by Stoko on Jun 9, 2014 23:35:26 GMT 1, I think doing it as a print makes it more of a statement than a few stickers around glasgow. We now - just on here - have people contemplating the possibility of a Scottish independence because of this print. Job done, from an artistic point of view. At Β£50 a pop its hardly a cash in.
PS: I think both are rubbish. *dashes off upstairs to make an Indiana style 'SH1T' design because i know people will buy it*
