Felipe Pantone ๐ฆ๐ท Exhibition News โข Contemporary Art , by thugs on Jun 8, 2017 12:29:48 GMT 1, someone's telling porkies. ? the publisher has stated categorically that there has been no use of inkjet, the printers categorically state that they did in fact use inkjet.

Felipe Pantone ๐ฆ๐ท Exhibition News โข Contemporary Art , by Pawel on Jun 8, 2017 12:35:55 GMT 1, This thread would be 12 pages shorted if it was explained something like this: - background is screenprinted - image is done using X - varnish is screenprinted
most people would say "Fair enough, not fully screenprinted but looks really nice". So much energy and time saved.

Felipe Pantone ๐ฆ๐ท Exhibition News โข Contemporary Art , by Fake on Jun 8, 2017 13:45:02 GMT 1, ..... Well I was fortunate enough to grab a coloured print for my daughter, who loves KF's images and has even tried to replicate KF's work in her art class - The class had to choose a famous artist and replicate their work, she's 11 y o - and she doesn't yet know that she will have this print...... She will be estatic! What is all the fuss over the printing technique....? I love Banksy's images, but I would bet that Banksy's printing process was knowhere near as complicated as KF's???
Good for you! (And her) I am not talking down the print. It looks amazing and the art of KF stands on its own. I am talking about the ethics of a gallery. How will they handle missing prints? Damaged prints? How will customer service be? You just dont know from a gallery who has something to hide.

Felipe Pantone ๐ฆ๐ท Exhibition News โข Contemporary Art , by bagpuss on Jun 8, 2017 14:20:49 GMT 1, Some strong words are being banded around about the gallery being liars and questioning their honesty. A lot of the messaging on these prints appears to be led by Fridriksworkshop (Katrin's studio); the gallery appear to be regurgitating the messaging (and photos) from the studio itself. I feel that it is naivety, on the part of the gallery, rather than deception that has led to this insightful discussion.

Felipe Pantone ๐ฆ๐ท Exhibition News โข Contemporary Art , by Deleted on Jun 8, 2017 20:26:43 GMT 1, not sure if anyone is getting 'bent up' over the process, just that we deserve a little bit of honesty as to how they were made so we can make our own judgements. Honesty.. or just openness... These prints would not have sold any different if the exact printing proces had been made clear. Now you will just have people complaining when they receive the print and maybe even loose customers by not being "open" next time.ย
I don't believe a single person will complain receipt. They will look amazing

the point being made here is that the gallery and/or the artist have deliberately lied to make their product more appealing to buyers.
that makes them utter shรฎtehawks in my book.
and the irony is they didn't need to do so at all.

Felipe Pantone ๐ฆ๐ท Exhibition News โข Contemporary Art , by avec art on Jun 8, 2017 21:35:15 GMT 1, I know I am in the minority here who actually cares about the process, but I'll say what I tried to explain last night anyway. From deconstructing how I think this was created (surely I'm allowed to speculate), the giclee element goes on first. With those Epson plotters, usually the paper comes off a large roll (to be cut down later). Then the screen printed silver metallic 'background' is actually added retrospectively. To do it the other way around would require your giclee printer to register at exactly the right point, so much simpler the other way around. This would also corroborate with what the printers have said. Then as mentioned before, spot varnish is screened, and finally the piece sent through an etching press to be embossed.

There are plenty of artists that I do not appreciate, but I would'nt have the urge to attack them....
I ain't got time for that shiit - live and let live - move on.

Felipe Pantone ๐ฆ๐ท Exhibition News โข Contemporary Art , by Ruggs on Jun 8, 2017 22:20:26 GMT 1, Don't know if this has been posted. Came across it on Coriander Studios website.
These exclusive new fine art editions by Katrin Fridriks are faithful to artist's renowned high standards regarding screen print technique and quality. (Utilizing peculiar printing and varnishing techniques, as well as the same paint used at her studio, these prints are flawlessly capturing her unmistakable energy and precision.) Meticulously produced in close collaboration with Coriander Studio, with whom Fridriks Workshop joined forces in the past, the editions kept the quality level and vital attributes of the original artworks. For both prints, Katrin Fridriks insisted on keeping the signature thickness of the paint and texture effect. By carefully selecting certain areas through the embossing technique, as well as applying partial glossy varnish, the finished works enhance the volume effect and the brightness of the colors. For re-creating her iconic "Waving Miracle & Magic Mind" black/white series, Katrin Fridriks and Coriander Studio applied Lascaux 995 paint to replicate the exact same silver background of the original Fridriks artworks. This cosmic tone creates various luminous reflection effects when viewing the print from different angles. As for "Waving Force of Nature - Awakening" color series, Fridriks chose a raw white mat background in order to accent the fierce energy of the image, at the same time allowing the screen printed organic macroscopic black/white details to intensify the contrasts between the elements and techniques used.

You as a buyer can at least decide if you are happy with the end result and are worth the price.

Maybe, but only because certain artist's work commands higher prices that others. Fairly obvious.
I think these prints look excellent. But I agree with those saying that it's relevant to know what the printing process is, if one is a print collector.

"Liars, liArs, ThERe aLL FecKiNG LIARS!" Says Thugs over a printing process.....
World war 3 apocalypse is heading our way
And my 11 y o daughter wants to stab someone because they haven't 'liked' her photo!
Crazy times!!!
I miss the days when there were no mobile phones, I miss listening to house music in my car, I miss smoking weed while overlooking the Thames in Bermondsey with my friends, I miss driving to McDonalds drive through twice in one day, I miss playing pound up the wall, I miss the feeling that we could make millions by selling something or organising beach parties, I miss playing football, I miss......
