I think £100 is not bad for a hand sprayed canvas if you love the image but if you're unsure if it's a grower or not then it's too much to take a punt for some. I've taken a punt and paid less in the past and some of these happen to be some of my favourite pieces. Good luck Kustrasen.

Whether you like the image or not it's great value IMO.
On top of all that Kunstrasen is about the most amenable bloke there is!

anyone getting the artist to reduce the price is taking the piss as far as im concerned.

I can't see any instance of someone directly telling the artist what they should charge. I see several instances where people say that in their opinion the piece is overpriced. If an artist can't take criticism (and I have not seen any criticism in this thread that was not constructive!) they should not make any work public. The market will decide the price tomorrow and that is how it should be. If they sell out the price may rise for the next release. If they remain unsold they'll see that they were overpriced.

£100 for a canvas is a steal IMHO, last kunstrasen release there were cries that they were too cheap! Good luck Phil not that you will need it :-)

The price for Kustrasen's work is spot on. It's being released through a gallery, so there has to be some mark up in price. Who are we to complain about price? Some of us bought a blank t-shirt for $80. Myself included.

Come on! 100 for a canvas, if you produce one self at the store, it will cost you almost the same.
I believe that 100 is a fear price and nxt release "Kunstrasen" it will cost 200. On friday it will cost 300 on ebay anyway, and still people will buy it. Good work champ!

its fair to say that Kunstrasen pieces are remarkably well done, have a great look, original pieces.. And the days of £17 pieces by the artist are long gone..

I don't have a problem with a gallery and an artist putting things out there at a price to actually make money.. After all, after months of doing his work for love, I can't see any reason in the artist trying to make a living from his work.. I for one think he has a great future.

if it's too much, don't buy it.. I dare say these will be gone in a flash irrespective.. 

The reason being that his work is good

I don't agree dude, newbies and flippers alike paid silly money for a tshirt in the hope it came from Banksy to make money on eBay. Over the top pricing like Faile does often stops flippers though.

Love the Kunstrasen one reminds me of the doctor who episodes with the crack in Amy Ponds wall. And £100 for a canvas is not bad at all.
Wife likes the Martin Whatson Chinook but a bit pricey for me at the moment as just about to do a big extension so all money going on that (but then at least I will have somewhere to hang my work)

Good luck to all the buyers and sellers today. Some zacharevic prints (hand finished) were released in Barcelona last week for 450 euros so I guess about £400 here. Quite a lot for a new artist but he is very popular...

Considering the print goes for £600 or thereabouts and is an edition of 100, I would say yes it is. I'd love to have one and would happily trade in the print to get but 3pm is a tight deadline
