Possibly because there isn't anything new to comment on. When artists turn out the same thing over and over, their art becomes a commodity. So naturally the discussion turns to price. 

As the spirit wanes, the form appears.

Perhaps even too generous a Hank quote for some of the artists. It assumes that, at least at one point, they had spirit. ​

I noticed that Martin Whatson's "Photographer" (Lot# 459) went unsold at Rosebery's Auction on June 24th. 2/5 and from 2008.

The estimate was £600-800. Just some food for thought for those looking at primary market purchases.

Photographer was a very basic image, so not surprised there was no takers at 600-800 + premium, ive seen them sold for half that. On the PDF there were canvases for that price and far better images so I still think they are well priced!

These were printed as a favour for Martin, there mini prints 20cm ish all screen printed and square

He intends to use them at them as unsigned gifts to people that buy his original works and use them as giveaways for expos as a surprise

Although the surprise element is lost now which is a Shame but that's social media man lol

There ace they look really nice and will be stamped only on the front with his new stamp and numbered that's it!

We may sell a portion at a v low price - to cover costs at some point but not any time soon

No point in emailing or pming to ask to buy I won't sell any and Martin will not either sorry

This was really intended as a nice surprise gift for example to all the buyers on his PDF of his works and NYC show attendees

Hope that clears things up
