Graffiti Prints , by Poster Bob on Jul 6, 2014 16:21:45 GMT 1, I didn't see anything of interest in the pdf but I was primarily looking for Ernest's pieces. Whatson's prices seem to be going up and up but the work feels rehashed and boring as a whole. I look forward to seeing what Ernest creates for the show but doubt that I will purchase anything as it's hard for me to rationalize purchasing something for purely aesthetic value at price points that exceed those of signed Banksy prints. (I don't mean to be critical here, this is just my opinion and GP and Ernest are free to charge whatever the market dictates for his work)

i remember looking through the 'rocks, paper, scissors' catalogue like five months ago and my favourite original was 2,800 euros. art world, man.

It's over 3 metres and massive hence the price point
There will be smaller works priced around Montana show levels, he painted that show 10 days before the show so I'm cool that's the way he rolls
Same with prints there being signed with prices and editions confirmed in NYC week on Tuesday

Graffiti Prints , by Chrisp on Jul 6, 2014 16:35:08 GMT 1, Do like one of the Watson's the one with the guy climbing over the wall but @ Β£900 he can keep it. MauMau does larger editions at less than a third of the cost, similar techniques with better ideas. Testing the market maybe? Is some nice stuff there but as always out of my league.

Graffiti Prints , by tas on Jul 6, 2014 16:48:45 GMT 1, Really nice stuff but sadly most is out of my price range. Even the Icy and Sot pieces are up there. Still excited about the show, looking forward to seeing the works in person. I really am hoping to score a Zach style wars on opening night. It's the only reason I'm trying to get there so darn early.

Same. Hoping there will be an affordable Zach print, or the En Pointe print by Whatson will be below 200p. Not really optimistic re: the latter, especially if it's hand-finished (which it probably is).
If all else fails, I'm just gonna ask Whatson to spraypaint my entire body and I'll sell myself at auction.

Graffiti Prints , by samfrost on Jul 6, 2014 18:26:52 GMT 1, I was rather surprised at the "ask" for some of the works. Smart move for GP to diversify it's base away from the EU and into the USA. I just didn't see anything that made sense given the price and other artists that are out there at the moment...
Also keep in mind most people on this forum are largely focused on prints, so I can understand a bit of opinion disparity. I do get a bit miffed with the release of so many "A/P's" and "original canvas" multiples....great for a quick pop in sales, but not positive for longer term values. I mean how many colors can you have of one so-so image or dude with a weapon?
REMEMBER MICALLEF!!!!

you can always wait for the inevitable next balaclava release by dotdotdot. metinks EB is stirring up some price trouble at the moment.

1. "Riot" - image featuring man wearing balaclava and suit with broken glass at feet, holding wire of television set (also at feet) in one hand, and making 'hand gun' with other. four colour-ways, edititions of 25. 350GBP
2. "Arrest" - image featuring man wearing balaclava and hoodie, putting handcuffs on struggling police officer wearing balaclava. six-colour-ways, editions of 40. 400GBP
3. "Mob" - image featuring 20-30 men wearing balaclavas and suits standing in horizontal mob formation, wide-set. five colour-ways, editions of 50. 600GBP
4. "Weapon" - new image, not featuring balaclava. lauded as best image yet. seven colour-ways, editions of 100, and eight a/ps, editions of 10. 700GBP

Increasingly, they run the risk of blowing themselves up over feckless color and image gimmicks. I don't think we have to worry about any of these works ending up in the MoMA or Saatchi...just endless burned flippers on eBay.

Graffiti Prints , by dazarino on Jul 7, 2014 10:24:30 GMT 1, I think the sandra chevrier originals are really well priced, i bought mine direct from jp and it was a small canvas around Β£600, they are really well finished and at Β£1000 for larger pieces, to me is still great value, she is gaining a massive following and her prices are still quite low compared to other urban artists that have just entered the scene. The martin what son canvases are again well priced. I bought my "David" canvas over 15 months ago and paid Β£1800, his stock and prints have risen since and not surprised they are selling well, so i think GP have the pricing for these two artists bang on.
Mau Mau prices are always good value and I really like the shane turner pieces as well.
Cant say about the others as don't know much about them. The dot dot dot prints are maybe a tad high. I fail to see how he has entered the market with such high costs and will keep a following. Dolk was still selling prints for years at Β£175 and now reaping the rewards of a massive fan/collector base.
