Guy Denning - aerosol on newsprints available FS, by colleendenning1 on Feb 3, 2017 13:18:19 GMT 1, Hi all After going through Guy's work for the Hartlepool show I turned up the rest of the two editions of stencilled paintings on newsprint that Guy made for his Purgatory show in New York a few years back. Some were sold at the time, some were pasted up in Manhattan and now I'm selling the remainder. There were two editions of 33 paintings in each. There are about a dozen of each left and they will be going live on:

Guy Denning - aerosol on newsprints available FS, by .dappy on Feb 7, 2017 17:32:35 GMT 1, ... I do like these, each hand stencilled onto newspaper with dynamo tape text and extensive hand finishing
Each complete set consists of two different portraits. There are 33 of each portrait (one for each canto of the Purgatory (Dante). One is of a New York resident and the other of a Fallujah resident. The two pieces take their titles from the first two lines of a poem by William Blake: Can I see anotherโs woe, And not be in sorrow too? Can I see anotherโs grief, And not seek for kind relief?
