No it doesn't, not at all.
I don't rate it, so I haven't bought it. I could've went down to the Ghetto to get one and put it on ebay @ £500 but IT'S SUPPOSED TO BE FOR CHARITY FFS. Not an excuse for the sort of braying fucktards that seem to be packing out the Ghetto this year to make an easy buck.

Santa's Ghetto 2006, by corblimeylimey on Dec 18, 2006 16:56:48 GMT 1, Just got back home to Devon from the Ghetto about a 350 mile round trip but it was worth it, I joined the queue at 9:00 just as the shutters were opening.
Huge queue but all was very civil and it took 1 hour to get to the front, my print number is 534, fantastic image, I'll take a photo of it later.

Santa's Ghetto 2006, by azlan on Dec 18, 2006 16:57:05 GMT 1, I agree that people who sell should donate something extra to charity... However there's no law against selling. Sure it doesn't feel right, especially so soon after the originals went on sale. But we all knew it was gonna happen (Even POW). However the majority of people moaning seem to be the ones who didn't / couldn't / wouldn't buy it. Hence my sour grapes comment. PS: I bought mine in Bristol and didn't get a note. (But I did read someone elses)

Santa's Ghetto 2006, by tom77 on Dec 18, 2006 20:32:17 GMT 1, i dont understand why people get so upset about people re-selling
people have always re-sold stuff to make a profit. concert tickets, sneakers, limited clothes.. its a part of the limited item stystem
i can understand ur point that re-selling is wrong when charity is involved, but the charity fee has already been paid therefore i believe the owner has a choice to do what he/she wants without people going against there decision
have you not got more important things to worry about in life?

Nobody likes a tout, just the way it is I guess. Alway's been the case, from FA tickets to gig tickets. People have said for decades that it's a low life thing to do. No different for Banksy touts. If they wanna tout tickets and prints, fine, but hey, don't whine when you take a slagging. It's par for the course. Like being a clamper and moaning when people have a go. What do you expect.

I don't think anybody is "upset" - they're just calling c**t for what they are.

Hey, the bottom line is it's the ebayers conscious on the line either way. If their only goal in life is to make a quick buck with out any care for what they are selling, good for them. Make your little profit. Me personally, I'm glad my life isn't that simple and greed driven.
I buy what I like, when I can afford it, put it up on the wall and smile that I'm fortunate enough to have it around. It is amazing though. I got into Banksy a little over a year ago. Missed out, but got lucky to get a CND signed before the madness just took off the latter part of 06. Personally, I think this his best piece in a while and wish I could've snagged one. But since I live in the states, I'll have to wait til a) I have money or b) Santas Ghetto makes an appearance here. You all are lucky I guess for living in the UK and having the opportunity to go on whims and snag a great piece for practically nothing. Ho ho ho from the ghetto. And lumps of coal to the punters.
I mean, at the end of the day, isn't ebay just like being a drug dealer? Buy something for a 100 pounds, 2 hours later you have 400 more. Capitalism at it's finest, eh. They must think they are the smartest assholes to ever live. Lets go get some drinks. And if anyone is parting with one for a decent price, ha. let me know.

Santa's Ghetto 2006, by RBK on Dec 18, 2006 21:16:46 GMT 1, One a somewhat lighter/sad note check this correspondence out with this guy! I hope he zips his testicals into his pants: search.ebay.com/_W0QQsassZmusicmedium
His first email response back to me: I am a big Banksy fan...i am selling these for a markup because i want to buy Trolley Hunters when its released and it will probably cost me around GBP 750! I can reduce it to 500 GBP including Courier shipping by FEDEX/DHL etc.. to the USA.
My response to him (which ended in him declining my offer of 150 GBP, and blocking me from making further offers): I'll pass. In a week or two you will be able to buy these in the 300s. And I hope that you don't get a Trolley Hunters, and have to pay 6x the actual cost - as you are doing now. Oh and by the way, guess you missed that these were being sold cheap so that: 1.true fans could afford them 2.a charity was benefitting

Santa's Ghetto 2006, by Ågent ßacardi on Dec 18, 2006 21:56:58 GMT 1, I hit the que about 9.30 & it took me about 30 mins to get to the tills. Within that 30 mins i was a bit miffed by the conversation's that were going on around me.These ranged from people who did'nt have a clue of what image that was being released to people also thinking that EVERYTHING at santas ghetto was by Banksy.I also heard someone say that £100 was 'a bit expensive' for a poster!! I have a fair few of banksys prints which i have obtained over the past 3 years. Today i went to by this print with the aim to being able to trade it (plus other print) for the appluase print that i missed out on. If i do not recieve any offers then it will be framed & hung on my wall with all the others.I have never sold a print on ebay & do not intend to start now. I know some of you will be pissed of that 1,you could not get to London to get this print & 2,that they are on ebay already. It's a real shame that people will try to make a profit on a charity release& the real 'fans' miss out. All you can try to do is put the word around to others & not buy this from ebay.
Respect, Brut!
I'm filled with hatred and rage for the people who got it for the sole purpose of flogging it on eBay too. But I guess that's the side effect of Banksy's fame... it's created so many additional hoops for his true fans to jump through, and saturated the 'scene' with all these scalpers growing on the fans like barnacles on clams. It's beyond disgusting. I wish nikeros1974 would get banned right away, 'cos this is a FANS forum, not a marketplace where touts are free to prey on the fans!!!
Not only that, there was an appeal for all proceeds to go to CHARITY! Yet people just blatantly seem to ignore that, and care only about their wallets!! Just goes to show that this world is filled with opportunistic people who would do anything just to make a buck. Sigh. That's just the way things are, I suppose. I really pity those people who're gonna bite the bullet to get the prints off eBay just because they couldn't get to the Ghetto. I guess it's okay for them if they spend only what they're willing to, but the thought that the money goes to these f**kers just makes the situation in Iraq appear to be Disneyland.

Santa's Ghetto 2006, by Ågent ßacardi on Dec 18, 2006 22:03:57 GMT 1, I'm shocked no one else is outraged as much as I am? See my above post.
I feel ya, rk. Believe me, I do.
Just that no words can effectively 'punish' these people and give them what they deserve... so after a while, being angry at them gets tired. We can only hope that there's such a thing as 'karma', and they get what they deserve in time to come. Maybe the print will spontaneously combust and burn his house down or something. Or if he looks at the print in the sun the reflection will blind him... perfect irony considering that the proceeds of the print should be going to a charity to help people see!
Ah well, we can only hope... and cry in the meantime
