While I agree it's too expensive, I don't think a screenprint would look as nice considering the texture of the face.

question: i was invited to the opening party of this gallery. i RSVPed as requested on the invite but i received no reply. should i go or not? it will be mighty embarrassing if i get turned away at the door with my date.

He's repositioning himself as an artist and hence repositioning his pricing structure. Bravo to him. His originals he did on those last minute drops were well priced and I believe will progressively come more valuable.

Heh I also have two of his oils on wood. He is an artist on a slow movement upwards and a serious artist and so would by be surprised in years to come that these originals will become out of reach of mere mortals.

i thought the same thing to be honest. i just got back from seeing this in person at the gallery opening. the pictures look dark to me, like sickness or depression. the mounds of paint are piled on, some up to 5 inches in height. it ruins it for me, not a fan at all, though the underlying paintings of the figures are beautiful.

it was the gallery opening so they had other works there.

I think that's the point of his paintings no? The title of the show is Metanoia, which is a spiritual conversion. The globs of paint make it look like the spirit is coming from the body starting anew. atomic77 Happy Shopper
