What do you drive?! A thread for the petrol heads amongst us, by ben3486 on Dec 20, 2016 2:10:55 GMT 1, Cars are easily my other passion and some cars, like art, are effortlessly pretty and beautiful.
I know some people on here drop a huge amount of cash on prints and originals so I'm curious to see what people drive.
Saving for a house saw me get rid of my 1 series m sport coupe in the summer and bank some money, but I picked up my little Clio Trophy to replace it. Number 413/550 ever made (500 for the uk and randomly 50 for Sweden). It handles like it's on rails and is just the most revvy fun car. Nothing but great reviews and every magazine it's featured in recently all say appreciating future classic, so it's nice to know I won't loose money when Time comes to sell.
I can imagine there's some people with some seriously nice metal tucked away in garages so feel free to share and let the other petrol heads on the forum perv.

What do you drive?! A thread for the petrol heads amongst us, by e3massive on Dec 20, 2016 8:31:44 GMT 1, Oyster card is my ride! For the non English out there that is a public transport pass for London 😀
I do love nice cars, but living in London makes it a bit difficult to get / keep something nice.
Avis prestige do nice cars to hire and have taken this route in the past. "Drive it like you stole it" then hand it back.

Don't blame you either e3massive. If I lived in London I'd not own a car. I bet a gagrage there is like buying a small house else where

No worries, Ben. Mobile at the moment so might seem abrupt. Apologies.

No need to apologise. I'm always on my mobile hence not spotting the other thread etc.
You cant get enough pics of tasty motors any way 😜

What do you drive?! A thread for the petrol heads amongst us, by Jeezuz Jones Snr on Sept 14, 2019 22:49:25 GMT 1, 2011 2.0l Golf tdi
Next year I will be out to buy either a golf R or Audi S3. Not brand new probably 2014 or see what I can afford. Looking forward to the test drives and working the pros and cons of both. Anyone on here drive either?
We moved into the city, the guy in the largest house around the corner’s electric gate opened and he pulled out in his brand new RS6, lovely note on the engine. I asked my wife if I can extend my budget 😢
I like the 2016 40 years limited edition golf gti also, very nice and probably hold its value better here in Oz as won’t be many around..

Is it worth it in Oz? you can only drive at walking pace, last time i was there i got 8 points for doing 30 in a 20km zone, i also didn't have a seatbelt on at the time which didnt go down too well (5 points out of the 8) as an aside, i was nearly arrested for doing 120 km in 100km zone at 4,30 am in the outback, and because i started laughing at the copper as i thought he was having a joke with me, they frisked me and made me put my hands on the top of the car etc, i couldn't stop giggling, they made the wife take over and drive, if I didn't do that they said they would take me to take me to the stations that was 120 KM away as my attitude 'sucked'. this was in WA. Most uncivilized I thought

I hear you.. Yes very strict and a great money earner for the government, I got done doing 56 in a 50kmh zone I live in Brisbane in the city and like all cities it’s crazy during peak hours. I walk to work which is great, this is more my weekend car and for helping out with wife’s work on weekend. Some great drives just out of Brisbane, beaches, mountain ranges, hinterland etc. just after something a little nicer for ‘all my hard work and effort I’ve put in over the last few years’, that’s what I’ve been using on the wife 😉
