Banksy Because Im Worthless Print, by anthoz on Dec 22, 2010 17:54:56 GMT 1, The placards seem to be the hardest to get - and there are the red & the pinky versions if you want to be pedantic - which sort of doubles the original set size for the purist obsessive value ? Pfft - they would probabaly average out at a grand apiece if sold as a set IMO
presumable for u/s

Banksy Because Im Worthless Print, by Phat Spider on Dec 22, 2010 18:05:05 GMT 1, You missed an unsigned GR on here a few days back for £850 - i'd consider that to be a fairly keen price. Signed i'd say you'd be lucky to get one for less than £3.5k - might have to pay a bit more.
I'm after a signed GR (or even better the Green AP!) but they don't come up too often

thanks for the info I hear radars are around 10-12k these days...certainly not cheap.

Banksy Because Im Worthless Print, by jakek on Dec 22, 2010 18:58:21 GMT 1, thanks for the info I hear radars are around 10-12k these days...certainly not cheap. I looked in to getting a Radar Rat this year and spoke to a few secondary galleries that had them (some had multiple copies) and their starting point was £10k so i would have thought they would have come down from this, and a private sale would have been lower too. Lovely print - would love one on my wall.

Banksy Because Im Worthless Print, by mrtomasz on Feb 9, 2011 9:26:43 GMT 1, Hi guys,
Thinking of selling two Banksy prints. I have an I fought the law - unsigned and a Because I'm Worthless Rat also unsigned. Both are professionally framed and in perfect condition. I have receipt from art republic Brighton. Looking into authentication from Pest Control.
Do you know how much each is likely to be worth?
Can attach photos if needed.
Thanks ;D

Banksy Because Im Worthless Print, by ABC on Feb 9, 2011 11:42:04 GMT 1, I fought the Law never seems to command high sale prices, very underestimated IMO. Is it standard or do you have any of the colour variants, same with the Rat, stick some pics up and you will get a ball park figure. More than likely you'd get 1k ish for each if they are standard. If you have a different variant then considerably more. Regret to say it but you will get a better sale on EBAY as you have a wider reaching audience.

Banksy Because Im Worthless Print, by colinfishwick on Feb 9, 2011 14:11:42 GMT 1, Did you buy them framed from AR?
If so they're not archival framed, they use Neilsen frames and to my knowledge didn't use acid free mountboards. This might have changed though if it was recently bought, I'd still be reluctant to add any value to the sale with regard to the frames unless you have receipts from a framer and what they did for you.
BIW is a nice piece, would be interested if it was one of the other two though - good luck with the sale!

Banksy Because Im Worthless Print, by stickitup on Feb 9, 2011 16:06:47 GMT 1, so if not on acid free mount boards and the tape is non reversable how long would you expect to wait before the print showed damage, I mean there is always this thing about non acid free paper/mounts, does it actually damage the print in a set number of years or is it just a case of somewhere between 40-150 years worst case scenario it will have dissolved the print...

Banksy Because Im Worthless Print, by ABC on Feb 9, 2011 20:06:37 GMT 1, It does damage prints by discolouring and eating the paper, this can be in a short period of time, dependent on surroundings. To be honest though mount board is not expensive, its the glass that costs. If your not hanging a print near direct light then the most expensive glass options are a waste of IMO.

Banksy Because Im Worthless Print, by mrtomasz on Feb 9, 2011 20:13:23 GMT 1, Thanks for your replies everyone. Has been stored in the dark. Wasn't framed by art republic but by an indie print shop in Winchester. He used acid free mount board as i remember having this discussion with him at the time. what were the standard colours for both and I can tell you I they are variations. Thanks

spot on with this except i'd disagree strongly over the glass. all light sources contain ultra violet light, whether direct or indirect - even diffuse daylight has UV in it and therefore over time will cause the paper (and therefore the print itself) to degrade. of course direct light should be avoided no matter what glass you use but don't assume by hanging your artwork away from windows etc that you can skimp on good glass, assuming the art work is of significant value.
the very least i'd use personally is UV glass.

Colin, i usually spend shedloads on framing mine in ultra everything type glass then once i have it at home i quickly wrap it in a black blanket and then transfer it quickly into a humididdlydiity controlled room where its left and never looked at, will it be safe?. On the other hand my small collection of ancient scripts and library of books dating from 17th c. are well read and as a consequence most of the pages are sha**ed out.
