THE CAGE OF THE BODY TO THE SOUL (New Sandra Chevrier print), by Hairbland on Dec 1, 2016 14:55:05 GMT 1, Not at all. I said i don't like it, not you shouldn't like it. My main point was about giclee vs screen print, in that somehow, to me, screen print seems a bit more authentic and worth the price. S Oh, I am absolutely in agreement with you. I think that with a screen print, you're paying for a printer's time, skill and craft. With a giclee, it feels like you're paying more for the artist's current market popularity.
Edit: Did you mention a wonky tooth, wonky nostril or wonky eye?
Her rise through an interesting idea (if not completely original) and calculated roll out has been witnessed here from the start. I can't imagine these giclees holding their value over time, personally I think she will be one of the forgotten (most are, actually). Time will tell, I have no skin (or comic book images serving as skin) in the game she's playing. I do think the comments regarding wonkiness are appropriate as others in earlier threads have commented on her painting skills.

What a balls up - by the time I'd opened another bloody account (I already have one having bought enough over the last few years ffs!?) they'd gone. Nice one COA, not.

THE CAGE OF THE BODY TO THE SOUL (New Sandra Chevrier print), by fullgraffitiblast on Dec 2, 2016 6:57:50 GMT 1, Ethical question - Is it ever OK to flip art? Like if the intention is to make cash to buy and keep other art.
I see one of today's Sandy Chevrier prints already sold for $715 on eBay...

Of course it is, art is a commodity. A great majority of the top end art is all about money...almost everything in the world is about money. Buy a $5,000 Harland Miller post card in a charity auction, write it off as a charitable donation on your taxes. The really rich in the USA buy a bunch of expensive art then set up semi private museums on their property for absurd tax deductions while waiting for the stuff to increase in value. The EBay auction above seems to show the actual print photographed on a wood floor one would think an insider. All of the parties involved in this print are trying to make as much money as possible. Generally the galleries are the least ethical (apologies for painting with a broad brush). I could care less about some schmo buying a print and then flipping it, everyone needs to eat.

THE CAGE OF THE BODY TO THE SOUL (New Sandra Chevrier print), by soupy on Dec 2, 2016 15:10:17 GMT 1, And they're all over eBay already, really annoying....! about 5 or so listings it appears. 2.5% of the edition isn't really all that much (rather low actually). par for the course with any limited edition release (art or otherwise). if you get annoyed by such things, limited edition art may not be a good hobby for you.

THE CAGE OF THE BODY TO THE SOUL (New Sandra Chevrier print), by jantalb on Dec 2, 2016 16:24:28 GMT 1, I personally don´t see a big problem with it. I have had to pay double for a piece of art a couple of times and don´t see why I should be on the "loosing" end everytime. I have not yet bought a print solely for the purpose of making a quick buck but I would´nt rule it out completely as I myself don´t always have the funds to get what I want because of the secondhand market. I just wish people could be somewhat upfront about it, especially instead of the usual sugarcoating, or just not say anything at all and just sell it. I reckon we´ve all heard some lame excuses to justify flipping a print
