Banksy I Fought The Law Print, by Daniel Silk on Apr 4, 2006 11:00:44 GMT 1, If you don't have an "I Fought The Law" and you fancy it, buy it NOW!
I had one come today numbered 400+
The total number is 500, so I would think around 75 left!
And yes I know they are not always sent out in number order, but they seem to have been more recently
Go get it! its a great print ;D

That one doesn't do anything for me, personally.
I saw one "in the flesh" last year (sometimes I change my mind when I see the real thing as opposed to a pic on a website) but no, I'm just not inspired enough by it to want one.

Banksy I Fought The Law Print, by guerillaart on May 9, 2006 7:34:05 GMT 1, You should NEVER trim a print to fit a frame! As soon as you trim it it will no longer be the original size and as a result will always be worth less in the future. However, if you're not concerned by this go ahead and trim it.

Banksy I Fought The Law Print, by guggi on Jul 5, 2006 22:50:22 GMT 1, Hi
Due to my current financial position I think I'm going to have to reluctantly sell my copy of this print. Which due to the same reasons I've never been able to frame!!
My print is a low number and also hasn't been stamped by POW - I'm not going to state the number in case some asshole attempts to capitalise on this by having further info on which prints weren't stamped.
I have all the documentation (ie credit card statement, original packaging) for my print, but am concerned that I may get grief whilst trying to sell it. Do you think its worth me contacting POW about the lack of stamp to get a COA? or asking for it to be stamped?
Any advice would be much appreciated ;D
Cheers
Guggi

Hi Guggi
If you live in London and it's no stress popping round to POW then I'm sure they'd be fine about stamping it, especially if you have the receipt or credit card statement etc.. they're usually very busy, so best dropping them a mail beforehand..then again, don't think it would make any difference selling as is. You must have bought it early in the run for it not to be stamped is all...a plus in my book ;D

Yeah, its best to pop in a see Steph You would have trouble selling it without a stamp Strange how it was not stamped in the first place I would have thought the whole run was POW stamped?

Banksy I Fought The Law Print, by guggi on Jul 28, 2006 10:00:20 GMT 1, Just to clear this up, I've been in contact with POW and they've said that they will not amend a print once it has been issued and that they didn't own the POW stamp at the time the early ones were issued.
They keep a record of the owner or where each print was sold and can confirm this to any potential buyers. This must be worth bearing in mind for anyone buying Banksy prints on the second hand market in future.

Banksy I Fought The Law Print, by mido on Jul 28, 2006 19:53:16 GMT 1, Isn't the whole point of the love heart ones that it signifies a freebie (e.g. for a special auction, or a thank you). so why would anything need to be changed??

Well initially they were going to do one for a person over on ebay, then decided against it. Was wondering how many auctions they're likely to be and whether the auction passes info to POW on the buyer, for their records. Saw that a love heart soupcan was now on auction.. do you think they'll limited it to maybe one print each or multiple ?hopefully just the one

Banksy I Fought The Law Print, by foundation on Jul 28, 2006 20:46:41 GMT 1, The prints with love hearts are indeed gifts and very special editions provided by POW, usually to friends & family. Some have been signed some unsigned. The idea was to provide a print that was genuine a genuine gift but never to be sold on. They would have remained pretty much unknown about by the general public, until Steph ( after a few beers) offered to stamp and heart a print given to someone who had helped at a Santa's Ghetto a couple of years ago. POW then decided not to stamp/heart it as it was both against the whole idea of the heart idea ( never to be sold)and unfair to the people who had bought the normal edition print. The stamp and heart thing is like a friends of POW thing. A nice touch as long as it isnt abused by unscrupulous people ( ie faking up hearts). The rarity of these prints generally meens that POW will know exactly who is in posession of them.

Banksy I Fought The Law Print, by headphonesex on Jan 20, 2007 1:24:34 GMT 1, RK, I brought this up on the ebay forum (the red IFTL's that is)
I remember these being sold by Tom Tom... I thought for £850, but it seems I may have mis-remembered, as I can't see them here being sold for less than £2500.
web.archive.org/web/20050627235013/www.tomtomshop.co.uk/art/art.htm
I thought at the time it looked hideous... but have reconsidered my opinion significantly now!
Anyway... weep at some of those prices - £550 for signed Happy Choppers & GWB for instance. And they seemed ludicrously expensive at the time!

Banksy I Fought The Law Print, by HowAboutNo on Jan 20, 2007 13:08:33 GMT 1, I fought the law AP.. and Jonah over on ebay group tracked down this image from the attempted Reagan assassination.. spot the difference ;D
How bizzare, excellent find! AP looks a lot better I think.
And I was staying at the top of the Holiday Inn in NY when that assasination attempt took place (if there was only one attempt to shoot reagan that is) we heard a helicopter outside the window, looked out and Dad said "put the telly on" sure enough, what was happening on the ground was being beamed to the telly!
