Dolk Canvases for sale, by sotiriou on Oct 18, 2016 14:55:09 GMT 1, I see nothing wrong with this. Two very nice pieces placed on the "For Sale" section of the forum, what I do find very wrong is that other members think they are almighty in their writings and opinions and choose to try to belittle new or existing members. I have been on this forum for 3 years. I am very silent, i like to browse and look, I often buy from here and I occasionally sell. I only have 30 odd posts in 3 years. I have a busy life and not as much time as other people who have almost 3000 posts under their name. I personally think negative opinions and smart remarks remain off these posts. Not so silent today though.

So you think it's good to make a personal attack on someone because someone has nearly 3000 posts and state that they belittle new and existing members with little proof, apart from a bit of banter. I think thats wrong and untrue and you are way out of line.
Anyone that knows me knows that isn't the case. I helped a number of members on this board over the years, gave heads up on shows and prints, sent members free items, posted photos, encouraged new members to use the introduction thread that we created in the role of FG. This was so people can be welcomed properly to feel part of the new community. I've helped and tried with others to create a forum community. It's not about thanks or return favours, it was and is about this community. I've met lots of new good friends on this forum.
So I recent the remark that I am almighty and belittle people. The rules currently are that there is not a set contribution post amount before being able to sell. It used to be 50 and this was to encourage more people to join in a create a an urban art community where people will get to know who they are dealing with better. There was always a question of safety in dealing with people that little is known of them as well. How many people have been ripped off on here?
You might lurk and not say much that's your choice and to make personal remarks against me insinuating that because I happen to have more posts I am lording it in some way. Just as you can have your say, so can I.
This forum has changed agreed and for people to come on here just to sell to make profit that is obviously what it's about. I've got nothing against the OP. Good luck to him with his nice pieces. But his friend could have least registered.

Dolk Canvases for sale, by storbars on Oct 18, 2016 17:38:21 GMT 1, Thanks for the great attention everyone The reason I'm doing this for my friend is that he's not that steady in English and trusts me with the job. I can understand that people / members have thoughts when I've only had a few posts earlier. I would probably think the same.
And for those who are interested in these pieces we are of course going to give a potential buyer all the insurance he or she needs to be comfortable with a deal.
For those who is wondering what price range for pieces like this is. Dolk personally sold canvases like this between £16-22k before he stopped selling them. Since it's likely he's not making more stencil art. These pieces may be one of the last ones. So therefore we are setting asking price high.
Pm me for a pleasant talk.
Regards Andreas

Dolk Canvases for sale, by 11 on Oct 18, 2016 18:11:10 GMT 1, A couple of nice pieces are being offered by the OP, one of which I've never even seen before so from that perspective I got something out of this thread but they actually sound more like a gallery than a friend helping out a personal collector (IMO) - the justification of high pricing seems skewed (and very gallery) to me.
This was once a place where like-minded individuals shared their love of the streeet art scene but now it's a place where the interest lies purely in net worth - before long the majority will be complaining that the place is getting clogged up with shows and art photography, getting in the way of sales threads
It's not even about how many posts someone has - I've seen some on here that have made 3000+ posts of utter garbage in less than a year and Now tout themselves as banksy experts yet have barely seen a real banksy in a gallery let alone a street piece. This is no longer an art lovers forum but a breeding ground for pseudo galleries and profiteers - those with any depth of knowledge that are prepared to help and guide others are the ones that get belittled these days.

Dolk Canvases for sale, by storbars on Oct 18, 2016 18:42:49 GMT 1, Not that I feel that I should defend myself in any way. But wouldn't it be strange if I represented a gallery and not fronted the actual gallery? I would think it would be great marketing for a gallery to sell these pieces.
The person who's selling is actually my best man at my wedding. And he is the one that has thought me most of my knowledge of art. Especially about Dolk, since he has a great personal collection.
Even if I'm new to the forum don't mean I don't love art as much as anyone else. It shouldn't be the "member since date" that defines how big our art interest is.
Regards Art-lover

Not quite sure what you mean?
But if you are asking the difference between this piece and other GWT canvases?
The size is 160 x 120 cm
Other GWT in edition of 15, is 100 x 70 cm.
So almost double the size. And 1/1 as signed by the artist.
