Father Christmas, the Tooth fairy, the Eater bunny and many more stories every parent tells there child are stores full of imagination but are unreal, on the other hand pre historic giant lizards that ruled the planet seem more unreal but the irony is that they where true. This painting illustrates the confusion of what is real and what not in a child's mind in a surreal way. the Easter bunny with the chocolate eggs that hatch baby dinosaurs, Yoda from starwars is father Christmas and storeys from Greek mythology. this is a painting showing the over active imagination of everyone's childhood.
Category: Acrylic painting on Canvas Materials: acrylic, ink, spray paint Dimensions: 71 × 51 × 3 cm (framed) / 67.5 × 47.5 × 3 cm (unframed) / 67.5 × 47.5 cm (actual image size) This artwork is sold framed One of a kind artwork Signed on the front You can buy on-line from here: www.artfinder.com/product/adventure-c2a/
The title of this painting is: The taming of Saint Theo Artist: THE KRAH Size: 100 X 120cm
This painting took me three days just to do the sketch on the canvas and took me two weeks to finish.
Inspiredby Hieronymus Bosch’s paintingcalled: The Temptation of Saint Anthony.
At a time like this when the country is bankrupt and everyone is struggling to survive, corrupt greedy politicians and tax dodgers on the other hand the average family that are truly strugling and cannot even get there pensions. As its all unfolding here in Greece all around me I have become a cultural sponge. When I draw, it seems the images I create are full of the most beautiful things Greece has to offer, mixed with is the ancient legacy and the modern chaos we have created. in a surreal and Neo-mythological way
In this painting I am illustrating the taming of a Shisu puppy named Theodore (means gift from the Gods in Greek) to find enlightenment and became a saint, the puppy must first overcome his animal instincts and become domesticated. As a lot of monks have done in the past he must fast from the pleasures of life and avoid the temptations around him to follow his path in the journey of life. This painting is not only about taming the wild beast and the understanding of the inner-God but about Greece and how I see the crisis through my eyes.
This original signed painting is only available to buy directly from me via my website , if you are interested or would like more information about this painting, please email me at hello@thekrah.com quoting the name of the painting: The taming of Saint Theo

Artist: The Krah Title of the painting: Quantum Graphics SuperNova, 2013 One of a kind About this Artwork
This is a pop surreal painting, exploring the subconscious using popular culture. in the bottom of the painting there is a silhouette of a couple ready to walk to a path that leads them the an door in the sky, there guiding them is a silhouette of the rabbit from Alice in wonderland. the painting is split into sections, in the background there is a gigantic female entity that looks like a lioness or Goddess overlooking the trip. in the top box floating in the air, there is a room where a story unfolds: a fisherman coming back from sea opening the door to find his beloved losing her cherries. In the other floating box, there is a room with a chicken beating up a man, it seems the artist is illustrating the childhood fear of bullying, where if you are called a chicken it means your are afraid to fight back, in this case the chicken overcome his fears. in this complex painting you can also see the Greek God Pan (Panas) half man half Goat drinking wine on the one box and on the other the devil riding on a panda. The early Christians used the image of Pan (half man half Goat) to portray the image of Satan, because of the popularity of Pan throw-out Europe as a Pagan God of Nature. Quantum Physics is a new science that explains the unexplainable things in the universe. like Surrealism was influenced by the new science on its time the Subconscious so in the same way pop Surrealism is inspired by the new science of Quantum Physics.

The Krah 🇬🇧 Graffiti Artist • Art For Sale & Wanted, by thekrah on Aug 8, 2014 14:55:22 GMT 1, I have been painting on the streets for more than 17 years now. As I have evolving my skills and style I feel like my work is tending towards pop-surrealism, a movement other ways known as Lowbrow Art. I am interested in the weird and the bizarre, creating a visual freak show to entertain the viewer. Hypnotising them as they become the explorers of my subconscious imaginarium.

Renown for his monochromatic dystopian landscapes, perverse creatures and machines fused to organic beings, H. R. Giger is recognized as one of the world’s foremost artists of Fantastic Realism. Born in 1940 to a chemist’s family in Chur, Switzerland, he moved in 1962 to Zurich, where he studied architecture and industrial design at the School of Applied Arts. By 1964 he was producing his first artworks, mostly ink drawings and oil paintings, resulting in his first solo exhibition in 1966, followed by the publication and world-wide distribution of his first poster edition in 1969. Shortly after, he discovered the airbrush and, along with it, his own unique freehand painting style, leading to the creation of many of his most well known works, the surrealistic Biomechanical dreamscapes, which formed the cornerstone of his fame. To date, more than 20 books have been published about Giger’s art. Giger’s most famous book, Necronomicon, published in 1977, served as the visual inspiration for director Sir Ridley Scott’s ground-breaking science-fiction thriller ALIEN. One year later, H.R. Giger created two of the most iconic pieces of film art in motion picture history. Labeled the ‘Derelict’ and ‘Space Jockey’ their originality and influence became landmarks in both the film and fine art worlds.
"Giger surely has one of the most original visions in late 20th-century art." – Clive Barker

The Krah 🇬🇧 Graffiti Artist • Art For Sale & Wanted, by thekrah on Nov 17, 2014 17:56:47 GMT 1, Thanks to all of you that came to the show. Was really proud to have my artwork along side H.R. Giger's, have been a big fan of his work since I was a teenager. For all of you that didn't make it to the show you can buy my Minotaur prints from my on-line shop here: thekrah.yokaboo.com/all/
About the Artwork: 66X86 cm Limited edition Giclee Print,
Giclee Art Print on Somerset Enhanced Velvet 255gsm
signed and numbered by the artist. sold unframed.
Title: The Minotaur Artist: The Krah Through this series of paintings we can see the strong relationship with the artist and history, his visual references to historical periods demonstrate how his Greek upbringing captured his imagination. Encyclopedias, illustrated children books, documentary, museum visits and hours of researching images have inspired him to create such conceptual imagery. It seems that the violent nature of humanity and a corrupt society full of civil disobedience is the main focus. The English artist William Hogarth's depiction of London Streets in Georgian times, streets frequented by alcoholics, opium junkies, prostitutes, the infamous Gin riots, homeless buskers, greedy politicians, compulsive gamblers and the pompous elite classes formed the inspiration for this illustrative painting. Hogarth's paintings disgusted the aristocracy, instead paintings portraying the elite view of a utopian romantic society were desired, much in contrast with the realty of the times they were living in. With this mind set The Krah symbolizes modern society as a city prison labyrinth. In the maze hundreds of characters illustrate today's society. Characters from different ages are depicted in a violent world whose savage figures symbolize the constant struggle among the the classes of contemporary society. A world governed by fear, fear of the state. In Ancient Greece the Minotaur was the symbol of that fear, a mutant guardian of the Labyrinth: the big brother watching your every move. Examining in detail we see the fight for survival, humanity in its instinctive nature, an animal wild full of brutality, sexual crimes, disobedience and disorder in a heavily controlled society. After centuries of trying to control the masses from the ancient times till now, the system of control is no longer working. Visual references to Hieronymus Bosch are evident as this is a contemporary version of Bosh's hell. Each time you look at this painting you see something new, stories layered in stories. Everyone is looking for Wally. You can view more of my artwork on my website here: www.thekrah.com
