I get what he is saying here its the country living stensil stuff that my mother does things that say stuff like "Welcome to this house" with little designs around them. Ok so the idea I get the design just seems so minimal esp for Donwood he took a chance gotta respect that.

Well can't be too sure although look at Beutiful Losers they seemed to sell out so quickly but now I have seen 5 of each sitting around for well over a week. It just goes to show that there is a limit to what can be shoved down peoples throats.

I was in Soho last night and though I'd swing by Lazarides and see what was going on and what was new, totally forgetting that 'London Views' is about to start. On getting there I discovered that there was a preview of the above going on. Undeterred, I walked up and gave my name which surprise surprise was not on the list.

Steve was asked and he let me in - cheers Steve you're a star (I think it was Steve!)

Anyway, theres some really good art in there and is definitely worth going and checking out. The scenes of London are quite cool and definitley theres 2 or 3 there that I want. No idea of prices and such but if in the area do go and have a look!

I've only seen his colourful stuff before (POW/Ghetto/Laz window a couple of months back). Those B/W prints are STUNNING. Wish I could afford all of them, but think I'm going to have to make a difficult decision as to which 1 or 2 I like best.

I've just been round to Laz, and am now thee very proud owner of a Cnut print.

I nearly didn't get it cos I found out it's used as the cover of a Thom Yorke album, but it's such a brilliant image that I would probably have bought it even if it had been the cover for a James Twunt album.

I hope nobody sees it on my wall and thinks I'm a closet Radiohead fan.


Edit: I picked up a price list for London Views while I was there:

The entirety of London Views from the Thames estuary to beyond Battersea printed on Japanest paper, edition of 8 £7999.99 each.

London Views 13 one off panels £4999.99 each.

SCREEN PRINTS - with London Views in red at the bottom. 5 Different designs: Dome, The Gherkin, Centre Point, Big Ben and St Paul's, all are an edition of 99 and costs £99.99 unframed and £159.99 framed.

CNUT SCREEN PRINT - is an edition of 199 and costs £199.99 unframed and costs £279.99 framed.

LINO PRINTS - the smaller prints, these are printed directly from the original linocut, using an Albion Press made in 1860. There are 3 different designs: St Paul's, Centre Point and The Gherkin. All are an edition of 33 and costs £199.99 unframed and costs £259.99 framed.

BOOKLET - this is a concertina-fold miniature version of the entirety of London Views, from the Thames estuary to beyond Battersea costs £4.99
