Beejoir π¬π§ LV Child β’ Imodium β’ Colour of Money, by unkle77 on May 9, 2019 22:19:09 GMT 1, Whatβs a Beejoir Imodium 20 AP mint going for these days? i will give you kind of a real answer Winks, even though it is post Graffiti Prints vault sale
i have found that A/P versions of either the normal 20-spot and the more rarer pastel 20-spot, really do not differ in price than the normal edition. with that being said, i believe the price GP charges is about 100 pounds more than what you would get at ebay auction or through here to be honest... my opinion of course.
I have both but the A/P regular is framed and the A/P pastel needs framed... long overdo. could not afford an OG and the 70-spot is way too big for printing$ and wall space unfortunately.. so 20+20 is halfway there lol

Thanks.

Beejoir π¬π§ LV Child β’ Imodium β’ Colour of Money, by rodgro on May 17, 2019 1:18:44 GMT 1, I think the only point WOOF was trying to make is an artist signing a piece on the stretcher bar is unusual as the stretcher is simply not part of the artwork. Iβm not suggesting Beejoir did anything wrong as Chris is truly a great guy, but it is odd and Iβm not sure I would be okay with it or would purchase something that comes that way. I wouldnβt be happy is he numbered one of his sculptures on the display box or one of his prints on the frame, but I know he doesnβt do that as Iβve known him for years and own several pieces that are signed, numbered, etc on the actual artwork. I think itβs just something to consider.

This is a complete artwork. The stretcher bars are part of the work as made and sold directly by Chris. Not something added later by someone else. Iβm a bit dumbfounded why this would concern anyone who has collected artwork for a long time. Itβs not exactly an unusual practice, less common for sure but not unusual. Hell even prints recently like Hirsts and Julian Opieβs are signed on a sticker applied to the back of the print. Doesnβt seem to concern anyone. π€·π»ββοΈ
If it is a concern just donβt reach out. No worries here. Lol.

My examples of a display box and framed print are IDENTICAL to stretchers if they were provided by the artist as part of the print or sculpture. That said, I was just giving my opinion of what I thought WOOF was trying to say and what would and wouldnβt work for me as a collector. As far as my comment about it being unusual to sign a stretcher bar rather than the canvas I stand by that as Iβve never seen seen a stretcher bar signed before but that doesnβt mean some artists donβt do it...no need for anyone to post saying my βinsert name hereβ is signed on the stretcher bar as Iβm NOT suggesting it doesnβt happen...Iβve just never seen it. Also not sure it makes sense to make a comparison between Chris and D. Hirst as the last I checked Chris doesn't have a factory and countless assistants. I do hope the piece sells/finds a great new home as itβs a classic image that will always be relevant in his body of work. Best. R
