Still? How many artists have to "challenge" authorship and institutions anymore? Isn't this the same challenge Warhol championed and knocked out 50 years ago? Visually the print is somewhat appealing, still, it's yet another Warhol knock off, with an ironic modern day counterpart substituted as the main figure — it's a tired concept.

Now the bin bag print isn't so visually appealing but the concept behind it is spot on and much more interesting/risky than doing a Warhol rehash. The source for the bin bag print, a perfect bronze sculpture reproduction of a trash bag (seen on this book cover) is a great concept.

I wish he'd continue more in this direction and in the conceptual direction of his blue plaque than doing Warhol.

saw the original at tate, pop art show, its a very distrubing life like statue of gavin turk, which in itself is enough to put me off the print, i'd much rather have harrision ford or elvis on my wall ...

I have just received the counter editions Gavin Turk triple Sid silkscreen. I have to say I am beyond impressed.

Having never bought a print from Counter editions before I wasn't sure what to expect. The packaging is the best I have ever seen. 2 ply corrugated card sleeve, inside of which is a 4 ply corrugated card folder with a handy opening window, and most incredible of all, a poly bag with a pair of linen gloves to handle the print. Amazing packaging worth the £350 almost on it's own it's that good!

Ha, £350 packaging - don't get them started! If they think there's a market for it, just you wait, some of these galleries will be all over it! Congrat's on the new acquisition. I'm not a massive fan of his art from what I've seen of it. Packaging sounds fantastic though!

Yep I've bought a few prints from countereditions and the packaging is amazing. They are a joy to buy from as well, and can't be more helpful if you need to speak to them or email. Some street art galleries could learn a thing or two from them.

One of my recent regrets is not buying Sam Taylor Wood 'After Dark - with lights' from Counter Editions.....I was hooked, ummed and arggghed then 'missed it'.

Too rich now for my blood..I begged for a disco but they weren't having any of it..

I'm interested in stimulating debate so don't take this the wrong way. I think Turk peaked with Nomad and has been heavily downhill ever since. The concept once played continues to lose strength with every release and he really needs to move on, as its starting to get a bit....well for want of a better analogy coldplay

I saw in tonights standard that someone has stolen one of gavin turks £3k bricks from a gallery in peckham and replaced it with another brick saying thanks have a nice day.
