WCP The West Country Prince, by Bigal 1987 on Apr 24, 2022 17:06:59 GMT 1, I really don't get why people like to voice their own opinion on someone else's for sale posts, it really pisses me off!! I had this recently (not on here)
Normally it turns into a argument, it also jeopardiseโs someones sale.
If you don't like the piece that's for sale then don't buy it, its really that simple! If you want to discuss a piece then start up a new topic!!!

You certainly don't. You don't even bow to correct usage of idioms. Such a rebel...

Did you mean โtow the lineโ? Never mind thinking about putting a toe on that line either!
As a fellow language lover, please allow me to join in the pedantry:
Where "the line" represents a rule, standard, or code of conduct that is expected or demanded of an individual who is a member of a particular group (such as a soldier, employee, company director, political party activist, government minister, or somebody on a sports team), the correct verb is indeed to "toe".
"Toeing the line" in this context is to figuratively bring one's toes as closely as possible to that line โ the same line where the toes of everyone else in the group are also positioned.
__________
By way of aside, my own stance aligns with the one @fizzy has embraced regarding the very purpose of a message board.
Every thread or post should be viewed as an invitation to other members to comment.
With respect to artwork being sold on this forum, as far as I'm concerned, the most logical, appropriate and convenient place to discuss the merits and pricing of that art is in the relevant sale threads.
Open discussion in these sale threads can be highly beneficial, for less-experienced buyers in particular โ especially if it encourages them to pause, reconsider, and think things through more carefully.
Sellers also seem to love discussion on the sale threads they initiate โ at least when the comments are enthusiastic or fawning. I've only ever seen attempts by sellers to shut down debate when some of the posts start to become critical. It is a double standard that is often transparent. And embarrassingly so.

Agreed about the last couple of paragraphs, a discussion about a thread is a good thing, however when someone is selling something its not good to bombard it with negativity! Everyone has a valid opinion but there are other threads for that, not on someones forsale thread, especially if your just going to jeopardise it by saying who ever owns one are fools etc etc. It is good to question everything and get the facts, but that is down to the buyer to do this before committing to something, not someone who just wants to voice their view on someone's for sale page and jeopardise a sale. That is why there are other threads on here to be able to do that

WCP The West Country Prince, by Lunch Special on Apr 25, 2022 14:16:07 GMT 1, The fact people buy into WCP just goes to show what Banksy says consumerism is all about. How you can justify spending on archival framing for a reproduction ( a poor one at that ) is beyond normalcy imo. It says so much about the person who actually buys this rubbish and hopes for it to go up in value.
To be honest. Why donโt ya just print out the stuff Banksy says is ok to print and hang up?

I agree to a point but from what I understand, is that the op is just asking for less then what hes paid for, so they do not seem to be hoping it will go up in value?Unfortunately most people cant afford the real deal so go to WCP to get the picture they want, yes they can print else where for cheaper but if they are happy getting it from WCP then each to their own, iv seen good and bad copies but if the buyer is happy then whys it matter?
I just think esp in this case even tho its good to give facts, theres a time and place and on someones forsale thread is neither as it can jeopardise the sale esp when it turns into a massive discussion and the sale then gets lost and especially where theres other threads to do that on.

Why donโt ya just print out the stuff Banksy says is ok to print and hang up? the OP provides an explanation as to why MFM was used for these. OP aside, I doubt many of us know the details but it sounds like it was an easy decision for a company to make - a number of prints to be framed, mibbe all in similar style, paying a few quid extra for framing than what most, if not all of us would pay for WCP framing but likely to be much less hassle overall. Doesnt sound like the company purchased hoping theyโd go up in value.
Not a WCP fan myself but each to their own as to how they spend their hard earned.

Thanks.
Just wanted to tell Daniel Silk too that at my job they told me that I canโt go on the website because it has a serous security problem ( not safe ), as saying toppins maybe you could fix whatโs wrong with the site or what is missing โฆ Yes membership of course.

WCP The West Country Prince, by kdrlly on Aug 23, 2022 9:13:03 GMT 1, Personally I think the WCP does some decent replicas of Mr B. Always makes me laugh when people automatically assume the quality is really poor. Iโm sure people think Banksy only screen prints on a full moon at Stonehenge surrounded by dancing wizards, itโs just screen printing. His pop up stall in NY is the classic example, thousands walked past as they thought they were inferior due to being $60 each. Iโm sure if it was revealed that WCP was Banksy then Iโm sure those that previously slated his work would be buying them.

Wish he would get around to doing a b+w Morons. Would buy in an instant! Heโs probably been out and about on a spraycation around the country in a beat up old camper van.
