Pøbel 🇧🇻 Norway Street Art • New Print Release , by alittle on May 3, 2014 20:14:37 GMT 1, What's the different between the releases, other than the slight difference in size? Is there any, or is it just an excuse to sell more of the same image?

Yes me - was in the cinema on 3G with my 9 year old daughter telling me to turn off my phone.
On the plus side, the new Spider-Man movie is great and we had a good burger afterwards at Five Guys.
Gutted though as I really wanted this in this size. Oh well. Vain hope that if someone regrets their purchase they might pm me - would need to be face value tho...

Well, I'll be hanging a x/150 edition, but I know it's actually a x/300 edition. Pretty smart really... Is it ok? Dunno. I don't care actually

See if these bigger editions change things a little?

Pøbel 🇧🇻 Norway Street Art • New Print Release , by nighthawk on May 4, 2014 21:23:25 GMT 1, This release is really no different from his past releases, in that two sizes (and exact same size as Lofoten) with very little differences are available. Only notable difference is that print run has gotten bigger with each release, which is to be somewhat expected.

Pøbel 🇧🇻 Norway Street Art • New Print Release , by Deleted on May 4, 2014 22:31:01 GMT 1, Another print in the recent endless stream that says very little to me, it's a shockingly clumsy environmental piece draped around an awful lyric, but you know, quick buy one, it's bound to be a classic one day, honest

See Komafest for example.
The print is a really good example of a collaboration between a graffiti writer and stencil artist, it's a great street piece and rather than being clumsy, is a clever way to highlight the impact consumerism has on nature. He went to a lot pf trouble to get the placement on this...Your ill informed criticism is lazy this time around.

Very well said, and thanks for the insight on this one. Personally, I think this piece is fantastic; well excuted and thought out.

Pøbel 🇧🇻 Norway Street Art • New Print Release , by Deleted on May 5, 2014 0:16:40 GMT 1, It still translates poorly as a print 'to me'
If you could explain how placement of a street piece has anything to do with a print I'd be grateful.

Pøbel 🇧🇻 Norway Street Art • New Print Release , by Deleted on May 5, 2014 0:28:33 GMT 1, Lol note I said 'to me' I'm sorry but a print doesn't display the clever placement and it's laughable you think that means anything in the context of the piece being sold, because simply it doesn't. Polar bear having to shop for ice..says a lot, in a very succinct, direct and creative way. You don't have to justify not liking it, it's ok, you just sound mean spirited for the sake of it.

Pøbel 🇧🇻 Norway Street Art • New Print Release , by alittle on May 5, 2014 0:36:22 GMT 1, I think as a print, it loses any impact the originally placed street piece had.
To each their own, though. It'll sell out regardless of what anyone says on this forum.

Pøbel 🇧🇻 Norway Street Art • New Print Release , by Deleted on May 5, 2014 0:38:58 GMT 1, It still translates poorly as a print 'to me' If you could explain how placement of a street piece has anything to do with a print I'd be grateful. Well initially street artists produced prints when "fans" who had seen the street piece started asking for it. It used to be frowned upon to produce a print that wasn't a street piece first. You didn't just buy the print, you bought the "narrative", became part of the story, went to see the piece if you could, spoke to the artist etc etc..an emotional attachment to place, context and narrative, not just a "print".
This still exists, people buy a memento of the street work, particularly with stencil art. This was and still is quite a revolutionary change in how and why people purchased art.
or ?

I was just going to say the same thing. In my opinion, most large "street art" pieces don't translate well to small prints. But us, the "fans", want them. As already said, it's a great collab between two talented artists doing what they do best. If you're purely a pobel fan, maybe the text kills it for you?
