It's acceptable to talk to a woman any way that you would talk to another man. The focus on equality these days has taught us that. Gender-blind it is.

From just this page, it just looks like some marketplace price haggling.
If you come here looking for numbers, then you have to accept everything you're given. It is an open forum.
Your post drew my attention because of the language and tone. Deserving if it was domestic abuse, but at best this someone was calling out the price expectations of another party and that rubbed the other party the wrong way. Just your everyday hoo ha.

You might not like these numbers but: heavy sea sold in October 20th @ USD$2500, wound sold in September @ USD$3100, meadow average price in 2017 so far has been around USD$2900, but the last 3 transaction have traded a bit higher at an average of roughly USD$3100 (with the highest, but not the most recent, being USD$$3250).
These are lower than what often one sees as asking prices on the bay, but it seems to be where the (public at least) market is clearing so far (but the private one - the stuff of legend sometimes - might be very different).
But again, I'm not sure these numbers are that relevant. Ask yourself what would be the price that would make you indifferent between keeping and selling the pieces. That should be your lower bound. Anything above that, is just about how you and the buyer will share your trade surplus.
Unless it is your line of business, art is mostly about private value. Personally, I have some stuff on my walls that I would not sell for multiples of their "market prices", while I have some stuff that, if I were not lazy, I'd be happy to sell at a fraction of what they trade for... But again, that's just an opinion - there is no truth in this stuff.

Just wanted to note that the last two Heavy Sea's purchased were bought from a "buy now" advert...there was no bidding and one went in 30 minutes and the other went in 2 minutes. Full discretion...I was one of those buyers. While I would like to see what a bid process would produce as far as top dollar, I am not offering mine up as a guinea pig and but I would offer a guess that it would be higher than $2500-$3000 USD based on offers... |
