Eelus: Secure a PP or a XL Lenticular AP, by tab1 on Jun 2, 2016 11:41:32 GMT 1, AR making up lost profit margins for selling all those banksys years ago.
They are a print shop , and know the market well , the owner does not care about the artists he represents , it's run as a business to profit , it will be run this way , ie extra editions until the sales fall , look at the price mark ups , if they are selling of course they will be taking advantage of the market . If continues old collectors may not pay high prices for the older work which in turn will effect new works pricings , unless they have tapped into the Stik market where price is of no issue

Eelus: Secure a PP or a XL Lenticular AP, by forbiddenlove on Jun 2, 2016 12:54:29 GMT 1, Shocker! The whore machine in full effect on the most popular image from 6 years ago. I'm embarrassed to own any of his stuff. I still laugh at them saying "don't worry only neiasbaw will be released as a lenticular and no other from the series". Well duh, those other secondary prices weren't high enough to warrant releasing more, otherwise they would have done it in a heartbeat. I think saying your embarrassed to own any of his stuff is a bit harsh. He does care about people who collects his work and is actually a great guy compared to some artists with similar success.
There are probably gonna be a few left over for damages etc which rather then throw away they can sell to the people who missed out - yes its making more money but it makes a few extra people happy.
Eelus wouldn't keep 100's to sell at a later date, nor would there be 000's of them. Eelus has refused countless times before this to take any commissions on this image so I don't think its fair to say he is churning it out. He wouldn't of wanted the pp's numbered because it was the making of the print rather then made for a limited edition.
Some artists do churn out the same thing multiple times but that is sometimes there plan to make something iconic and part of their brand. (not that I think Eelus has really done this in this case).
Im a big fan of his work - one of the artists that got me into collecting - I think he produces some of the best. - and the above I'm not saying from a bias point of view. there are artists which I collect which I don't have the same opinion for.

Eelus: Secure a PP or a XL Lenticular AP, by vikingsurfer on Jun 2, 2016 13:43:16 GMT 1, Wrote that post hours ago and just realised I didn't hit reply, a few others have posted since then.
So there are only 7 additional PP's across both editions.
Put away the pitchforks people.

Eelus: Secure a PP or a XL Lenticular AP, by stopthespray on Jun 3, 2016 9:09:31 GMT 1, I bought a PP and can't wait to get it. I had the original print years ago but sold it. Happy to get this image back. After the debacle of a drop AR initially had I was happy to secure a PP.

Eelus: Secure a PP or a XL Lenticular AP, by happy go lucky chap on Jun 3, 2016 11:21:15 GMT 1, Yes, these are numbered. The APs for the 3D and 3D rain changes colour, are each numbered edition /5, so 10 APs in total on the standard size, and from vikingsurfer's post, it looks like 7 PPs on the standard size.
The APs were meant to be offered to those that narrowly missed out on picking up one of the standard editions, although offered at an inflated price.

Eelus: Secure a PP or a XL Lenticular AP, by loother on Jun 3, 2016 11:59:45 GMT 1, I ended up getting one of the standard edition lenticulars. I would probably prefer the original print, but that wasn't going to happen, and meanwhile my wife loves it, my kids love it, and I'm delighted to have this classic image on my wall. And though I have had problems with them in the past, I'm happy with the way AR handled this purchase. I have no axe to grind here. However …
I understand why some methods of print production can lead to the creation of a few prints that are either incomplete or in some other way different to the main edition, or even a couple of perfect prints that end up outside the main numbered edition. And I understand that sometimes, or even most of the time, these prints will end up being sold to collectors. But the deliberate creation of additional prints identical to the main edition, labelled as if somehow different, for the express purpose of selling them at an inflated price seems to me to be wilfully dishonest, and I don't like it at all.
It's not like Eelus and AR are the only culprits – so far as I can tell the practise is extremely widespread – but really it shouldn't happen, should it?

The longer you collect the more you notice these trends with galleries and print shops What is annoying is they always say sold out on a release to create hype / demand then profit further from releasing at market price later on

I have never been to AR before and was surprised when I found it, 1. how small it is 2.The huge mark up on very average art mostly framed in white. and 3. After some chatting with staff was very surprised to be offered a Eelus Lenticular. I guess business is business and we all have to make a living but if I was going to drop that sort of wedge I would do it on a HM but each to his own. More importantly I am thrilled that the grey cloud and drizzle has been replaced with blue sky and sun, for now anyway..

Eelus: Secure a PP or a XL Lenticular AP, by FЯ on Jun 7, 2016 17:13:03 GMT 1, the fact they stated they are numbered changed things alot.
can see why people would be annoyed if they were just marked A/P etc. If there are only 3 of the proofs for one variant i think thats normal.
Gives those a chance who missed out originally to pick one up. if you really want one you will pay for it i guess.

Eelus: Secure a PP or a XL Lenticular AP, by happy go lucky chap on Jun 7, 2016 17:50:40 GMT 1, Personally, if I was looking to buy one of these I'd rather have a numbered AP or PP any day. There's a standard edition on eBay due to end this evening @ £1500. In my opinion, the APs at £1250 are well priced, and will probably end up being the more sought after pieces, so long as they are all numbered.
