Blake Dazzle condition. Get your thoughts on Coriander, by Deleted on May 27, 2016 22:11:27 GMT 1, I received my Sir Peter Blake Dazzle print from Coriander this week. It was experts packaged but arrived with some imperfections in the glazing. I reached out asking for a new print which I confirmed is possible but was refused. I am wrestling with whether or not I should return a print that I really like or wrestle my OCD and live with it...
I would love to get the forums thoughts on the matter and how you feel about the response from Coriander.
"All prints released from the studio are quality approved by the artist during the signing process. These are hand produced screen prints and do bear the results of the printing processes used. Sir Peter Blake was aware of the surface marks described but you can be assured that these are characteristic of the edition, not defects."

Blake Dazzle condition. Get your thoughts on Coriander, by Daniel Silk on May 27, 2016 22:26:39 GMT 1, I would say that prints fine. You would always expect a good percentage of prints would have areas on them like that, and in my opinion its part of the character. But yeah, you pay ya money so if it particularly catches you eye and upsets you then I think a replacement is fair.

Blake Dazzle condition. Get your thoughts on Coriander, by Deleted on May 27, 2016 22:28:19 GMT 1, I think the response is fair, and has offered a refund should you want one
The reason i say this is that now you have spotted what you consider a defect any replacement you get will be scrutinised by you, and again you will find another defect, the artist is aware that the print isn't as clean (not sure if that the right word) as people may expect, but is happy to literally put his name to it
Some banksy prints are like this ie my grin reaper has extra tar marks on the clock face, this is an imperfection, but doubt i would get to swap it, though I may get a refund if i pushed hard enough

Blake Dazzle condition. Get your thoughts on Coriander, by SturbanHasSaggyTits on May 27, 2016 22:29:39 GMT 1, As they said, it's part of the process. I'm quite fussy, but would be OK with that. It would bug me more if the paper was dinked or marked. I think it comes down with your ocd and whether you can live with it or not. I have an irreplaceable 1/1 print quite badly damaged, but I still framed it and quickly got over the marks and love it for what it is. Your choice though.

Email 1:"Dear George, Thank you for you email. I am pleased to tell you that the area you are referring to is a characteristic of the UV glaze within the process and not damage. Sir Peter Blake has signed it and given his clearance for this artwork. Please be assured this is not an imperfection but part of the artwork that is inherent in the process. If you still feel unhappy with this artwork I can offer you a refund, I would not offer a replacement in this case as this piece is not damaged. I hope you are happy with your artwork and enjoy it. Best wishes, Alex" I responded that I was not happy with this answer and I felt that I should be issued a replacement as I was assured over the phone would be an option.ย Email 2:"Dear George, Thank you for your email. I did had lots of problems with them! Worse experience with a gallery in 20 years!

Blake Dazzle condition. Get your thoughts on Coriander, by nighthawk on May 27, 2016 22:54:49 GMT 1, How is that gallery (Coriander) not being helpful here? They've answered both your emails with due diligence, and offered you your money back, including the return postage.
These are screenprints, and each could have very minor imperfections; most do. Like Alex said, both Sir Peter and the gallery signed off on it, so it appears to be up to their standards.
I guess the better question is who did the printing, and does the gallery have a history of "printing issues"?!
I was going to suggest to simply hang it, and you most likely won't notice a thing behind glass, but I see you've already come around to that! Good decision

Blake Dazzle condition. Get your thoughts on Coriander, by avec art on May 28, 2016 0:01:39 GMT 1, I think glaze has a habit of doing this, but these marks are really minor and I don't think are anything to worry about at all. Screen prints are not factory products thankfully, except perhaps that whole warhol thing ... err but you know what I mean.
