😳 thx for sharing this warning (i did not contact the gallery because i wasn't personally interested; i also think some glue is reversible but not my area of knowledge). it is now marked "sold" (i'm guessing artsy gets a smallish cut of sales but they only lose the listing fee, if any, if they pull it = no incentive to mark sold if it wasn't)

i love the humor of Monkey, but do not believe it is iconic (not related to a mural, not comprised of many small things making up a bigger thing like Rennes, Demos, Headquarters ...). it is a large print, would be fun to live with, has wall power, and given the limited number of collectible Blu works ever released, and even more limited number ever coming up for resale, seems like a good value (though shipping from Australia might be pricey, and it might be glued to board like the Demos was so worth figuring that if interested).

i checked their website (galleryoz.com.au/) for more Blu and nothing popped up, but might be worth checking with the gallery if they have anything more coming up given that they posted this just after selling Demos

It’s ridiculous how talented Blu is, plus a man of his morals. Imagine how much he could earn from print releases, he’d hands down clean up in comparison to some of the much hyped artists with lazy releases.

the Demos print is marked as sold again (still keeping track). they've dropped the price on Monkey (now $2900). 

fwiw, the DVD with Muto and Big Bang Big Boom, in a signed edition of 100 for £1,000, still looks like a bargain to me: www.artsy.net/artwork/blu-dvd-2010-signed
*it sold out immediately upon release (i luckily had wifi on a flight when i saw it was released and purchased it from the air - it was gone by the time we landed) but this is consistent with the current idea that most collectors find video to be difficult (even though it is cheaper to get a dedicated monitor on the wall than to frame a print now days & the works on this dvd are one of the primary reasons why Blu is art historical, plus video has more wall appeal)

Just took receipt of the Demos print, seemed there was a misunderstanding with the framing method, had some really transparent conversations with the gallery, upshot is I’ve got a pristine print as it left Studio Chrome and couldn’t be happier. So based on my experience buy with confidence from this crew 👍
