Bobby Kareem Hill 🇺🇸 New Paintings • Art For Sale, by Bobby Hill on Jul 5, 2010 17:35:54 GMT 1, Bobby Hill: Post Street Art... Is it necessary?
First off... I think it’s actually best just to make art and let everybody decide what it is or if they like it or not. However, when everybody starts claiming the same thing or overdoing it, it gets diluted and it’s time to move on. Even though that dilution might expose more people to a genre it’s still gotta be onto the next one. The same thing happened with rock and roll a long time ago in regards to the hair bands. This is what made it possible for hip hop to take over. Now many years later the same thing is happening in regards to hip hop, where authenticity was always a major factor. Hip hop will still continue go on and certain artists will continue to sell a bunch of cd’s or downloads, but the rawness and edge that made hip hop, hip hop is lost... only for a moment I hope.
When both these genres went into certain eras, the doors opened for something new to happen. The same thing is happening to street art. It will always be with us and there will always be great artists that put art on the streets, however, the over saturation and exploitation of it leads to the spoiling of it, regardless of that over saturation opening it up to new audiences. Once this happens, a reinvention of sorts is needed to keep it fresh.
Post- street art is a continuation and expansion of the foundation laid by street art and graffiti that helps us get away from having to have a label before the word artist, even though it is a label. Post- street art is a reaction to the over saturation of everyone claiming street art just to make a quick buck. In respects to the founders of graf and street art who made it possible for other artists coming up after them to prosper in today’s time, I felt it was neccesary that we move these two visual art cultures (that always said fuck you to the establishment) forward. Post-street art does that. It’s more of a thought and an era than an actual style. Artists who “think post-street art, often use their real names in an era where a lot of artists use nicknames or tag names. I think that many of the artist’s who “think post- street art”, are influenced by the look and ideology of street art and graf in addition to other things, but may have never put a piece of art on the street to begin with and that’s cool, because that’s not the deciding factor. Others, might be actual street artists or graf artists that want to differentiate themselves from the many people who are now calling themselves street artists just to make a quick buck, and have in effect made a mockery out of those titles... the possibilities are endless. Basically, post- street art is what comes after street art, which came after graf, which came after pop art etc. It is not necessarily a style, but an era and a way of thinking about art. In the future, post- street art will turn into various new genres containing different styles.
Artists who “think post-street art” or just art for that matter, are just as comfortable painting on canvas as they are on found objects. They have seen artists from different genres such as Damien Hirst, Banksy, Murakami, Cope 2, Jeff Koons, Futura and Shepard Fairey, create brands based on their art, help get presidents elected, and have learned from that. They make no apologies to those who think it’s not cool to thrive off of their talent.
Like street art and graf, post-street art is not intended just for a rarefied elite, but for all those who appreciate art. There are more similarities than differences. The don’t give a fuck attitude of graf and street art lives on in a huge way. They also know that galleries are not the end all be all, and are capable of thriving with ease in today’s internet era “art market/ art world.” They still make art for art’s sake and they also make art for sale while branding themselves in the process. Many might simply call post street art, fine art or contemporary art with an edge and that’s cool but it’s too broad a spectrum. It’s not really contemporary art even though it is contemporary... and it’s not really street art or graf, even though it may be inspired by the street... it’s somewhere in between or to the left.

Bobby Kareem Hill 🇺🇸 New Paintings • Art For Sale, by Bobby Hill on Jul 23, 2010 23:01:02 GMT 1, VISUAL ARTIST BOBBY HILL HIDES OVER $50,000 ON NYC STREETS AND TRAINS! New York City – It seems as if there’s a big game of hide n’ seek being played in NYC and no, I’m not talking about the kind played by grade school children in summer camp (although that’s fun too). Since July 2nd 2010, pedestrians and subway riders have been pleasantly surprised to find limited edition “Bobby Hill Multiple Original Art Prints” during their commute throughout the city. Each of these unique works of art is conservatively valued at $50 apiece (not considering prices increasing over time), which means Bobby Hill is dropping over a cool $50,000 in total on the unsuspecting folks of the 5 boroughs. These pieces will continue to be strategically placed throughout NYC until September 10th, 2010 during Fashion Week. Visual artist Bobby Hill has created 1000 limited edition Multiple Original art prints to celebrate his one-man show, "BHILLBOARDS" (pronounced: billboards), which opens this upcoming 9/11, for two nights only in NYC during Fashion Week. The exact location will be announced August 31st via Resetuniverse.com and to those who RSVP. The original prints, which currently features images of Bob Dylan, Bob The Builder, and a special one of Muhammad Ali, were individually handcrafted by Mr. Hill on found corrugated cardboard. The lucky few that find one, will have a unique work of art that lasts a lifetime and the opportunity to bring it to the Bhillboards Artshow to get it signed. In addition, the first 250 guests to the arrive at the show will receive a NYC 9/11 inspired “Bobby Hill Multiple Original Art Print.” For more information, visit www.resetuniverse.wordpress.com or www.resetuniverse.com or www.youtube.com/resetuniverse or check out more links below.

Bobby Kareem Hill 🇺🇸 New Paintings • Art For Sale, by eddiedangerous on Jul 24, 2010 1:49:42 GMT 1, Artist's £1 million giveaway Kiran Randhawa 14.11.08
ONE thousand artworks worth an estimated £1million will be scattered across the streets of London tonight for the public to take free.
In one of the biggest street art exhibitions the capital has seen, Adam Neate will distribute the paintings from 8pm across all 33 local authorities.
The 31-year-old artist said the A3 size works will be left at landmarks as well as in "nooks and crannies" and he does not expect them to be found until tomorrow morning.
Neate, from West Ham, has been involved in similar projects before. "In the past I've given away around 1,000 of my paintings each year so 1,000 on one night is a big task," he said. "This has always been a dream of mine to do an exhibition across London."
Neate will join a team of 20 in distributing the autographed printed works, which all feature the same image but have a different combination of printing and stamping.
In recent years his work has featured in Elms Lesters Painting Rooms in the West End where his pieces have fetched up to £43,000 each.

Many years b4 i ever stepped foot in london, i wud hide prints in nyc phone booths w/ my contact info written on the back. people wud hit me up etc, asking if they should return it and i wud tell them to just keep it as a gift from me. so yeah, i kinda been doing it 4 a min... more like an hour.
Also, the Dylans, Bob the Builders and Alis are almost all gone. The new ones that will be on the streets in a week or two will be the Bobby Hill cartoon character, Bob Marleys, Spongebobs, and the Bobby Browns (w/ the gumby).
thx again yall later Bobby
