Zedsy π¬π§ Street Art β’ New Print Release , by bentheartfan on Aug 6, 2016 16:00:20 GMT 1, I don't know which statement Zedsy is making, with the reduced sticker considering this print is being hyped to re sell for more than the retail, drop price. I'm a newbie here so this may be an obvious answer, but how is this print being hyped up, vs other releases? Is it a reference to the artist putting it up at Tate ala Banksy ? Is it a reference to how this post hit 8 pages ? Personally, I like that the artist kept the print affordable at under 50 quid, vs many releases I see that start at multiples of that on the primary market.

Zedsy π¬π§ Street Art β’ New Print Release , by bentheartfan on Aug 6, 2016 17:05:43 GMT 1, Too many people with special interest. But.... Flippas gonna flip How is this ascertained? I ask as I am genuinely curious.
It was a small release, initially only 90, and I see 5 on ebay. VS something like the new Brainwash where there are already a couple dozen up on ebay.
I bought one that I intend to frame & hang up (IE I'm not a flipper or collector, just someone with a few pieces of art on my walls)

Zedsy π¬π§ Street Art β’ New Print Release , by gravity1 on Aug 6, 2016 18:58:30 GMT 1, Is the Zedsy can produced from an original painting or done in another way and the reduced sticker added before the screenprint is made? I presume there is no original artwork for this screenprint as in had drawn and painted. Maybe someone knows if that is the case. As you can see it is an exact rip of the original Warhol can. When overlaid one can see that absolutely nothing here was created or modified aside form applying the sticker. No shame at all which is further expressed in having the stones to put "as seen at the Tate Modern"on the COA. I could have been seen at the Tate Modern last year for a day as well.

Don't be jealous you didn't think of it first.lol No hype necessary as I didn't get one on release and haven't purchased one after-market so I have no reason to hype this print. I have no connection to Zedsy, personal or financial. I just happen to like the print and it's ambiguous message. I like art that makes you think and try to reason what the intention of a piece really is, but maybe that's too big of a concept for small minded people.

At best, this work is pedestrian and completely void of original thought. The fact that you've convinced yourself otherwise does nothing to change that.

What else would you change? Did Warhol change anything from Campbell's design?
Don't know what the coa has to do with anything. It's not like anyone bought the piece because of what the coa says. They were all sold before he even printed them up.

Zedsy π¬π§ Street Art β’ New Print Release , by docean on Aug 7, 2016 0:31:41 GMT 1, Comical that people are so quick to attribute defense of this print to hyping. Is it not possible that people genuinely like it?
oh wah it's devoid of original thought. you sound like pouty children. if you don't like it, that's fine. not everyone is going to like every piece of art. There's plenty of art that people love and I hate. But some of the whining on here just sound like jealousy to me.
I don't care what the dollar value of the print is or becomes, because to me the value is that it's an interesting, thought provoking (go ahead, grab your pitchforks) piece to go in my room.
Yes, it's the same soup can image Warhol used, so what? He literally copied the image from Campbells...does that mean his work was devoid of thought too? absolutely not. by that train of thought the only creative people were the guys at Campbells
Banksy has used images before...Gericault's Raft of the Medusa for his wall in Calais is the first that comes to mind....never saw any bitching and moaning about that. Jeff Koons notoriously copies images....no complaints there.
so what price do these need to flip for before people stop complaining?

Zedsy π¬π§ Street Art β’ New Print Release , by BKBOI on Aug 7, 2016 3:00:44 GMT 1, Think it is healthy sign when collectors fight about a piece of work. Remember that there were detractors of the impressionist painters back in the day. To all people who bought to frame and enjoy on the wall... Congrats and show us some frame ups soon. To all the people still talking about a print that dropped a week ago, negative or positive, stop hyping this chit.

Yes that's true : if you take off the T of " typing " you have hyping ! :-) Anyway my friend, is it really art ?! Just Photoshopping ... Impressionists were a wave, painters. In street-art, per example we have great things too .. I don't understand this, I repeat : because of Dismakand because of Banksy .. Even the black Apple by Zedsy has more value and is more searched than a Pejac or a Paco Pomet : this is art.

Well, it's a great debate : are hyped prints, that we are mostly seeing here or there, art ? - before coming on this forum and seeing Exit, I did not know that prints market exist apart for some French comics illustrators, and I did not care too, I bought some , finishing in the dustbin during all my moving ! Then, for me, art was a canvas, a drawing, a sculpture etc .. It's just my advice... Contemporary or classical, from the bad ( art for tourists per example called also traditional or craft or handmade ) to the best... There is too many persons babacool or not, calling themselves artists, there is too many artists thinking that they are " making art " ( jewellery , candles, tats, crappy or not canvas or countrysides drawings etc ) anything that seems to be art and that is only shitty things made for money most if the times.
" Art " - with a big A - should rhyme with creation, whatever this creation. It could be a tag, a graff, ( spot and location are important ) a paint, etc etc .., A print, most of the times, is just an image, an illustration.. So is illustration, art ? Photoshopping, art ? There is so many photographers that think that they are the best of the planet !... Humility is good in art, they should not forget ... And the mind too... And to hurt people too., to make them thinking ! Geisha prints are just illustration, not really art per example.. Artworks must defy authorities, passerby and break all styles. Like to enter in the mind of the poet. Art should have poetry too.
Anyway, Yes of course if we want it, we can call it art, as a kid sketch on a piece of paper ( the last Banksy wall in the school is perfect, and we can call it Art because he used and mixed different pieces and styles to crest ( create ) this artwork ) , but I don't know if the provocative, lucrative and outlaw Banksy has been thinking to make art one day, as he mocked museum and canvas - himself too - since the beginning.. The probems is that most of prints now mean walls and wallets .. And that most hyped ones could make think to tats and not other thing as the meaning is poor ... And I did not speak of copycats, more productive ( lol ) than never ! I have nothing against Zedsy, and I am sorry to have to talk about his print and, I repeat, I like his can, and this funny idea, I just don't understand why it comes today, this summer, and why most of all here are so enthusiastic ! Dismaland, brightening shadow, I repeat...

Zedsy π¬π§ Street Art β’ New Print Release , by eye like on Aug 12, 2016 16:45:18 GMT 1, As a relatively new member of the forum I was a little nervous about how easy transactions might be between members, but can I just say what an absolute pleasure it has been to deal with 11!
He even went to the effort of spending a couple of hours on the M25 to bring the prints over to me, so that they stayed flat rather than tubed, and that gave us the opportunity to have a great natter about our mutual art collections. Very jealous of his pieces I must say!!
All in all a top bloke!!!

Zedsy π¬π§ Street Art β’ New Print Release , by bentheartfan on Aug 20, 2016 12:18:08 GMT 1, It seems these have started to arrive at buyer's homes... Haven't yet made their way to Canada, but should be soon. For those that bought.... how are you thinking of framing it ? I'm thinking about floating it in a white frame with a red spacer. Thoughts ?

Zedsy π¬π§ Street Art β’ New Print Release , by NYart on Aug 20, 2016 14:23:13 GMT 1, I think I'd probably go with a black frame and really like the inlay but may go with a thinner one, as thick as it is it kinda draws my attention from the image. I think white frame with a white mat and a large amount of white space on the print could just make it look like a little too much white space.
Just my opinion but may be worth consideration!
