Julian's Auctions πΊπ², by warholsdream on Apr 18, 2016 13:34:03 GMT 1, Some rad piece's here but I would NOT put Alec Monopoly within an inch of the majority of these artist. Stop making stupid people famous. Semiotically as boring as flying fox poo and poorly executed misappropriation =;0) will be interesting watching it go down. Cheers for the heads up do dig the news letters.?

Looking at the catalog, I don't think Julien's turned away anything... And I mean anything.

I got the impression that they didn't want too many in auction at the same time.
It's a good result anyway an specially for anyone sitting on a pile of Stik prints they bought in bulk

Someone reported that Philips aren't accepting more Stik til 2017 due to the overwhelming demand following their recent auction result.

"Due to overwhelming demand" does that mean demand from people wanting to buy or people wanting to sell? I find that confusing Surely an Auction house will sell more from an Artist if they are in demand? but them also why would they limit numbers if more of people want to sell?

Julian's Auctions πΊπ², by Daniel Silk on May 1, 2016 16:31:52 GMT 1, I can only understand it as they have had so many people contacting them wanting to sell Stik pieces at future Urban Art Auctions that they dont want to flood the auction with them. Im guessing we will see more Stik pieces in their next auction, but maybe they have a limit on all artists that they only ever allow say 6 or 7 pieces from any particular Artist in each auction?

nobody wants 10 babys in one auction :-o

Julian's Auctions πΊπ², by 11 on May 1, 2016 17:08:49 GMT 1, Paddle8 have done the same thing with Emin, after the posters and napkins went crazy there's been a flood of sellers so they stopped taking anything more till 2017
Nothing unusual at all - it is merely the auction house managing their own pipeline and ensuring the coming auctions are a well balanced spread of artists to maintain interest across the spectrum.
