I had a flick through these test patches yesterday. Noting jumped out at me as the colours were all quite bland and not very detailed. Maybe the best bits had already gone, or maybe that's all they have hence £200 price tag. There were a good 20-30 available.
IMO you better off trying to get hold of one or more of the prints. This is one of the most understated print releases I have experienced. They are stunning, and would good as a pair on the wall

Agree with rosac , think all the best pieces had gone from the little originals. I could have impulsively bought one but passed. Most of the ones left were quite subtle - although all had some nice doodles on back. Quite expensive for £200 in comparison...

Paul Insect "It's only a Dream" Allouche Gallery, by 10th Mountain on Apr 12, 2016 8:52:41 GMT 1, I had a chance to call in yesterday whilst up town. I can only say that I was blown away with the quality of this show. I can only add to what others have said about the detail and feel of the work. There is a piece called the "Ever Loyal Stand", which if I can the money would be destined for my wall. I was fascinated by the technique of the work, and the chap who I happened to ask about it, was PINS who had popped in to see how it was going. What a delight it was talking to him about his work, the process, and his passion about what he was doing. Nice to hear about what has bought about the development of his work and to hear the detail of the hours and hours that go into these works. Nice to hear he bought the puppets along as he felt it was nice for people to see how Cr#p they really were. They were good to see, and bought back memories of jiggling them about at Dismaland. It was a privilege to have listened to his passion about the work, and how much of a gentleman he is. Even to give some board to kep the signed show card OK in my bag. If you get a chance, this is really one of the best shows for a while, and I wish I had the funds to purchase some of the pieces. I wish him the very best for this. I hope these pictures show some of the detail.

That's very constructive. You've given no commentary on the show. You probably shot your load when Paul liked 2 of your insta pics.

I thought that if you liked one they would look wonderful framed up. They were part of the process in looking at colours and different effects, and gave insight into the process. I guess anything abstract has a broad version of opinions, but rubbish??

You only have look at the revenue Kaws now generates from a drop. On another note, this forum used to be full images from shows and I'm not talking about reproducing price list images but actual shots of hung work in the gallery It seems no-one bothers these days for whatever reason which is a huge shame and makes the forum feel very disconnected. If you go back in the thread there are loads of photos. I wasn't targeting this thread in particular, I was making a point about the Forum as a whole and I stand by my comment. (It was sparked by the complaint of people buying PI prints but not bothering to go in a look at the original work.) This show is well organised and I suspect the organisers have had a lot to do with the in-gallery shots here. Show me any other recent exhibition threads that have bothered to do this..
Back in the day the forum used to be full of images from shows. Now its people telling you they've been to the show but can't be bothered to upload images. It's a shame because it does a disservice to those who can't make it to the shows in person.

With regard to pictures specifically though, what you don't want is multiple sets of the same pics just for the sake of it - "look at me I've ACTUALLY been to the show" A good number of pictures have already been posted by 11 , .dappy and Dibbs 45 to name a few...I'm more than snap happy though, so if want another 50 up......

Paul Insect "It's only a Dream" Allouche Gallery, by Dibbs 45 on Apr 12, 2016 11:53:47 GMT 1, I bought an OG and a print. I love both of them. The small OGs are for me well executed pieces that are hand painted and would look lovely framed. Obviously not everyone's cup of tea. £200 for a PINS original. Less than you would pay for some derivative balls that's touted on here. Mine hopefully will look great with my small Bast OG. I think it would be a different story if these OGs were framed up to sell. The cellophane wrapper didn't do any of them justice. You needed to get one out to look at really.

(Have there been changes to imgur???). They're great - very thick bright paint and full of classic Insect motifs. I'm not surprised they're not to everyone's taste tho as abstract art rarely is as someone said above.

Paul Insect "It's only a Dream" Allouche Gallery, by Deleted on Apr 12, 2016 12:29:14 GMT 1, By that, did you mean no profit to be made when flipping them? Martin Wainwright (the man who keeps the Guardian true to its northern roots) reports today that Battered in Leeds is offering scraps for £2. Admittedly they have been tarted up a bit to include "zested and juiced with lemon, sprinkled with chilli flakes and mixed with rock pepper or nutmeg".
Indeed, Battered's head chef, Robert Charnley, says:
"That's only the beginning - we're keen to expand our scraps offering. Customers have started coming up with suggestions for other ingredients to mix in.
