Monkey Parliament - real or fake, by artcave on Mar 25, 2016 23:21:01 GMT 1, I've been told that there are fake Monkey Parliament posters out there, which is of no surprise. If you're a buyer, you often only have a photo and the sellers word to go on (and a tube/receipt if you're lucky).
So one important initial step you can take is ask about dimensions, and see if the size is correct. I've heard of someone being offered one a considerably different size to mine. As far a I am aware there should only be one size of these. I am not looking for buying advice, I have a very straight forward and singular question, how big is yours?

I think That there is not only the size ( easy to have the " legal " one, but almost all, the quality of the paper, the kind of paper and his thickness too. For my Deep blue Stik , I have chance , because I had the real don't panic signed one ( and I have the proofs of the buying etc ) ... If some are wondering if they bought a real one, they can send me pics, size, etc.., Posters are the easiest to reproduce .

Monkey Parliament - real or fake, by artcave on Mar 25, 2016 23:40:07 GMT 1, Thanks Roy, but you can't always be there to feel the paper. The paper of a Monkey Parliament is actually quite thick and heavy, not like a Stik poster. But if the very size of it is wrong then that should ring alarm bells without having to see it in person. So I'm trying to get opinions on just how big they ought to be.

Here you have the real size: . Expressobeans/public/detail.php/111970 Here you have some pics : . Expressobeans/viewtopic.php?t=42796
I think , as it is only posters , swindlers making fake posters will not take time ( for that price ) to make it : so you would easily see it in the colors , in the details, size etc ... It is no prints so , we will see already the rubbish one. They are more interested in making fake tenners, easy to do , and the other ones making fake prints ( a lot of Monkey Queen at this moment on eBay ) are more professionals, we will say. I thin k you will. Recognise already a fake poster ( my Petrol Bomb is a right one , I bought it the day after for 250 quids in eBay , we can see with mails, etc .. That it is a real one - fakers would not have time to make one , to roll it in the plastic bag etc ,,,)

Monkey Parliament - real or fake, by artcave on Mar 26, 2016 10:26:40 GMT 1, Thanks again Roy, the sizes on the opening page say they should be 36 x 24 inches. However if you read over the two pages of thread, people have measured theirs and they all say they're approx 21 x 33 inches, which is what I believe is the correct size.
Expresso beans needs to have those initial details adjusted.
With regard to fakers, I agree with you, the margins for profit on these posters are very small in comparison to screen printed works, so any fakes are likely to be poor quality and more immediately noticeable.

Monkey Parliament - real or fake, by chelseatrader on Oct 20, 2016 21:37:12 GMT 1, Just a little extra, I have a Monkey Parliament poster which I bought from an ex member of staff of POW which is in a tube with POW stamps, its rolled in POW tissue paper and has a POW business card inside, and it measures 84cm x 53cm. In other words that's the size of a Monkey Parliament
