I think it's safe to say that every president in history has committed similar blunders. The loss of decorum (for which Trump is largely to blame) seems to have given a lot more fuel to the media publicizing these sorts of things.

But I see a two-fold problem with the attention this kind of thing is given:

1. It makes it easier for his supporters to argue that the media is simply biased, and dismiss anything that is reported as aimed at blaming or attacking the president.

2. More importantly, and in concert with problem 1, the spectacle provides cover for the insidious steps that are being taken to undermine and radically change the direction of the country. This kind of thing is far less important than the comprehensive assault on industry regulation and other subversive acts that may take decades or more to recover from.

While I don't have moral objections against celebrating the death of the worst of the worst of the worst people that ever walked this earth, YAF was organizing an event on his day of death to educate university students about who Che Guevara really was, an ideolog, a terrorist and a mass murderer, instead of the glorified popculture figure the left made him out to be.
