That's mostly due to the fact that leftwing opinions are in general based more on feelings than on facts. It's hard to quantify or objectify feelings or back them up with data. Without evidence or data you can't really debate, you can only resort to calling everyone that doesn't agree with you a racistbiggottranshomophobenazi. Because feelings.

They become millionaires whilst promoting left wing rhetoric whilst exploiting the poor, hiding their millions offshore, investing in tax deductable assets; living in big houses amongst their own kind as they certainly don't want to live amongst the poor, buying and driving big expensve cars and ignoring the victims of crime and racism unless it helps raise their profile to get more votes.

Thing is that both can be true at the same time. Trump is partly a childish trollish prickish dude that can't control his urge to cause shitstorms on twitter, and at the same time a brilliant businessman learning to be a politician. If he keeps DACA (with the exemption of people that committed crimes), builds a strong method of border security (yes, part wall), gets rid of that insane Obamacare which is so anti American it even hurts me as a European, thinks in a sane way about gun control etc he can truly be one of the best presidents in recent history.

It’s fascinating actually, how this occurred and what the US is left with.

Firstly it’s worth scrutinising his business dealings, he’s a lot less successful than he claims to be, his behaviour in relation to bankruptcy could be said to be immoral to. Buts let’s sweep that all aside for now.

The evidence I’ve read would suggest he’s mentally in decline which is understandable given his aversion to exercise, his diet and you know his age. But the other side of this coin is how did he get elected ? Republican Party in decline? The Russian influence? Hilary clearly being the establishment? The electorate wanting someone different who appealed to their basest urges?

All these things. I would suggest he didn’t want to be president but saw it as great pr.
