Love his work but not this image, I think I'd get tired at staring at the back of the kids head all the time. Much prefer the other similar images, so easy pass even though the price is fair. It wouldn't make the wall, the street version works better.

Yeah, but it makes sense IMO. Maya has a resume filled with gallery and even some museum shows versus Seth who does not.

Agree with most you said BUT Maya's print is still available which tend to show it actually was a BIT overpriced, especially compared to what some of her beautiful original artworks are going for (still fairly cheap IMO)

I think that the idea that a print must immediately sell out is a concept that's very normal to the urban art world, and pretty foreign to the world outside it. Just look at, for instance, damien hirst. You can walk into any OC and buy a spot print with ease. That doesn't make them less valuable or overpriced because they didn't sell, because they will eventually. It's just about knowing your market.

That said, I think the maya print should have been cheaper. Not as much as some people, but cheaper for sure.

This game is mainly about financial gain and flipping.. If Maya's print was 400 pound it would have sold in seconds and people would then have it up on eBay for 750 pounds.. Urban art is the working class of the art world where people make little sums of profit which over a few years could prove a nice profit if done correctly - it's all about purchasing the right piece..

I think PTM overcharge for most of their releases.
Take the Proch or the Smash release...
You can still pick up bigger Proch prints that, imho, are better images and cost less @ Lazarides. (I think they even have a screened layer.
You can still grab a far greater Smash print at LSC that is fully screened and bigger for much less as well.

At least PTM have a funny sense of humor, read somewhere they stated that the litho is far greater than the screen print. As far as quality.
That one made me laugh for at least 2 mins.

Either way, not going for this today. Have to save my coins for the yet to be released Miaz Brothers print from Laz. (Which I'm guessing will be less than this Seth.)

It is possible to get much finer detail with a litho, that's true.
"Quality" depends on your definition. Whether you like the thicker ink, or more hand made feel.

Now you know I'm a HUGE Miss Bugs fanboy.
I love the texture and thickness of their screened inks.

When I think of lithos, my first thought always goes to the ones MBW used to put in every tube he sent out.
Granted, I know PTM use better paper than MBW did.

That's just a 4 Colour Process poster... it uses a Litho process, but it's not quite the same as a multi layered Litho Print like these.
