Conor Harrington @ Cost....., by ogrgel on Mar 15, 2008 16:56:15 GMT 1, I doubt any of the hand-finished prints commanded more than a minute of his time and cost what... 400 quid more?
you can't be serious ..

Conor Harrington @ Cost....., by seidbereit on Mar 15, 2008 17:43:33 GMT 1, In what way can I not be serious?
I've not seen a hand-finished one so far that looks like anything has been added to the overall piece. It all looks rather arbitrary as if the main objective was just to add a lots of paint through which a lot of the actual image has got lost. Hand-finishing to me means the addition of details and nuances, not tipping out whole pots of paint.

Conor Harrington @ Cost....., by manchestermike on Mar 15, 2008 17:45:17 GMT 1, Have to disagree here, the hand finishing is very in Conor's style, if he did small dabs of hand finishing here and there it wouldn't work... it wouldn't be him. I love the big bold paint additions to them all...

I get that that it's his style and really don't want to rile up people who have a hand-finished one (believe me there's no jealousy at play here), but I find it incredibly odd that he's used colours that have nothing to do with the original and worse still that they've been painted on solidly, thus completely hiding the piece (or at least big sections of it) that I assume was only supposed to be enhanced a bit. Just seems extremely OTT.

Fully understand where you're coming from, but I like the boldness of it... won't know what mine will look like until it arrives though, some look more worked on than others

what I meant is that it certainly took him longer than a minute .. hes been working on these for at least couple of weeks and as we know he is still no completely finished
that can hardly be called sloppy
