PEZ ๐ซ๐ท Pierre-Yves Riveau โข New Release โข Art For Sale, by JW on Jan 21, 2019 22:15:45 GMT 1, Are we absolutely sure the rules were changed to random selection? They explicitly stated it was fastest to reply: yes straight from a PM from them Fair enough. It's their perogative, but I don't know why they didn't just state that upfront. I get that enough from my wife.

PEZ ๐ซ๐ท Pierre-Yves Riveau โข New Release โข Art For Sale, by Bangksy on Jan 21, 2019 22:51:28 GMT 1, Just got the pre-order email... Answered within 2 mins, hopefully that was fast enough :-) How does this work? I didn't get a presale email. Do you have to contact them for every drop? I thought they automatically sent out presale emails to previous purchasers of Pez's prints, no?

PEZ ๐ซ๐ท Pierre-Yves Riveau โข New Release โข Art For Sale, by tab1 on Jan 22, 2019 0:08:53 GMT 1, A lot of love for this print. Does nothing for me. Each to their own. The art I collect oftentimes does nothing for others! It's only a few realistically on here trying to purchase ,if you read the thread. 150 main edition plus all the others I'm sure everyone that wants one will be able to purchase , not that great a demand on the secondary market for pez so a few usual flippers may pass , plus you have a chance at the vault sales.

PEZ ๐ซ๐ท Pierre-Yves Riveau โข New Release โข Art For Sale, by met on Jan 24, 2019 23:45:30 GMT 1, A lot of love for this print. Does nothing for me. Each to their own. The art I collect oftentimes does nothing for others! I find this print a bit naff.
In fairness to Pez, his art does demonstrate a level of technical ability.
The main failure for me is the fact he seems overly concerned by what other artists are doing. Pez has a tendency of referencing those artists, or is influenced by them in a way that's too obvious. This might be down to youth, and could also explain his visual erraticism.
Depending on the piece, I've picked up thematic or stylistic influences by (among others) the likes of Seth, Dran, Tilt, Jeff Gillette and Banksy. It results in work which quite often feels more derivative than individual.
In the case of Mirage, the image looks like a poor man's Pejac.

How does this look like a Pejac, because you chose the mono variant? I think Pez goes much more in-depth than Pejac whose work looks repetitive, some of which I enjoy. Sure Pez was probably influenced by the artists you mentioned as is any artist with their idols or mentors.
I truly enjoy how Pez addresses our obsessions, greeds and the environment. But hey Pejac really likes arrows, deer, and crows cool.

Pez's work may look inspired by Pejac and it is only because he is on the same territory using the same visual tricks.

PEZ ๐ซ๐ท Pierre-Yves Riveau โข New Release โข Art For Sale, by d.r. perseus on Jan 25, 2019 1:54:37 GMT 1, I actually agree that pez at times appears to be โtrying on different hatsโ. ..even with that his style is clearly distinct as is, say pejac from mets mentioned few. Regardless I love the image (even more so due to my deep seeded love for rhinos).
I donโt think Mets critic is without reason....whats amusing is when everyone starts in on any artist due to the comparisons. Oh you think itโs like pejac? Pejac is sheeeit!

PEZ has already done so much different styles, vibrant colours, etc, where Pejac is just repeating his black and white environment theme. There's no way to compare the two and to say that PEZ is 'paying too much attention to what others are doing' is just an outright lie.

PEZ ๐ซ๐ท Pierre-Yves Riveau โข New Release โข Art For Sale, by Express Post on Jan 25, 2019 2:15:35 GMT 1, You don't comprehend.
It's about Mirage painted by Pez that has visual similarities to certain, not all, artworks made by Pejac.
It is these similarities between Mirage and other Pejac pieces which is why people are calling it out.
You've compared Picasso to a house painter's output based solely on using paint as the medium. Visually, they are not alike. There are no visual similarities. You could switch Picasso for an abstract artist that does solid colours, then we would have a discussion, but Picasso is the wrong example.

Besides that, PEZ has shown a lot of styles and techniques in his career where as Pejac has been repeating his style print after print after print.
The guy you quoted called this a poor mans Pejac. If anything it's a rich mans Pejac as it's way more detailed than the stuff Pejac has published until now.
Oh, and I actually like Pejac a fair bit.

PEZ ๐ซ๐ท Pierre-Yves Riveau โข New Release โข Art For Sale, by tab1 on Jan 25, 2019 3:35:56 GMT 1, I find this print a bit naff. In fairness to Pe z, his art does demonstrate a level of technical ability. The main failure for me is the fact he seems overly concerned by what other artists are doing. Pe z has a tendency of referencing those artists, or is influenced by them in a way that's too obvious. This might be down to youth, and could also explain his visual erraticism. Depending on the piece, I've picked up thematic or stylistic influences by (among others) the likes of Se th, Dr an, Ti lt, Jeff Gill ette and Ban ksy. It results in work which quite often feels more derivative than individual. In the case of Mirage, the image looks like a poor man's Pe jac. With regards to addressing the environment issues I thought the main media issues of late was plastic in the oceans not raising awareness in the wilderness of African safari lands?unless tourists throwing out their lunch bags when on a jeep safari
must have a small collector base as each release in technical style is so different to his last , collectors usually like similar form? Good to see not stuck in mould and trying new styles

PEZ ๐ซ๐ท Pierre-Yves Riveau โข New Release โข Art For Sale, by NYart on Jan 25, 2019 4:24:11 GMT 1, Itโs a bit strange to compare the two of them in my opinion. Pejac has his niche, and Pez has quite the range of pursuits. Short of this Mirage piece, and their shared talent of utilizing pencil work, thatโs about the extent of their similarities. Both are very creative and their work stands alone. Might aswell say they both are copying Obey because of his pro environment pieces ๐คท๐ปโโ๏ธ
