Wonder how the stock market collapse will affect things? I was planning on throwing in some low bids on something at Sothebys and PdP. Hope this means bidders are less aggressive and I can win.

I would normally guess that it would hurt the sales. However, gold prices are screaming higher which suggests people want out of currencies and into tangibles which would include art. On the whole, it probably is bearish for art. For the very best blue chip works, I suspect it's bullish. If that flag sells for over $75MM, I'd say that's a strong signal that the global equity markets did not hurt the best art in the world.

id expect the next 3 weeks dow drop 2000 points .... people agree go to safe havens... gold will increase but think way to high right now and hitting tipping point... as for art market wish could comment but dont have enough experience as lee or snausages but enjoy seeing posts to help me learn...s

As I said, the one man's trash rule is alive and well. I respectfully disagree with your opinion but it's not like either one of us will be hanging it in our homes any time soon.

Can some please point me in the right direction to where the best place is to sell a Picasso Pochoir entitled "Deux femmes courant sur la plage (La course)" from 1922.



I purchased it from a NY gallery and have all the relevant documentation but when it comes to selling something like this I am in the dark..

I dont really want to go to auction houses if I can avoid it.

I have a Picasso portfolio for sale.

Book with 1 aquatint on Arches wove paper and 10 reproductions on Rives wove paper; loose in percale folder with brown cloth corners and spine.

Au pont des arts, Paris, 1966. Portfolio with 11 offset litho on BFK rives, of drawings and collages done between 1910 and 1914.

Total Edition 300 with the 1st 100 containing a signed & numbered aquatint.

Would rather sell the whole portfolio together but might consider splitting everything.

Yeah it usally is where I'm putting them but I always like to offer them on the forum first, you'll never know and it doesn't cost anything.

The whole thing wouldn't be much more expensive than most signed Banksy (if anyone is scared about the price)

Basically it's a portfolio. Size is about 60 x 40. Sheets are loos inside.

The full edition was 300.The portfolio is numbered on the colophon. Copies from number 1 to 100 contains an aquatint signed & numbered by Picasso + a suite of 11 offset lithograph consisting of collage Picasso did between 1910 and 1914. Copies from 101 to 300 only contains the unsigned suite of lithographs.

They all come in a loose portfolio.

1st print is the S/N aquatint. The rest are the unsigned lithographs.
