There are some great images, I had never bought art before seeing the Wizard of oz print with my now wife and now I have multiple pieces by JJ and a 1\1 pure evil. Its art for the masses, its really accessible and super geeky. Admittedly not every image is strong but that's surely just a taste thing.

To be honest, with JJ works you need to know exactly which image(s) you want and go for them. The spring collection will be on eBay in 3....2..

Been meaning to start a thread on JJ Adams (not the director abrams!) for a while...

I have been keeping an eye on his work for about a year now and i was originally not a fan at all, but around 7 months ago when the tattoo series (he used to be a tattoo artist) came out something seemed to work with his work. It was about that time some works started to sell out as well.

Adams is recognised as a 'mixed media contemporary pop artist' but I have never seen an original up close, and the bits i have seen are mostly photography mixed with screen print, sketches or digital manipulation.

Digital manipulation is a bit of a dirty word in art but there is room for it amongst the classic techniques.

The effect gives a dreamlike state to alot of his work.

Im not going to talk about prices, you can find these out for yourself.. but i was wondering what the general opinion was on his work. He seems to have a big following but not mentioned here very much.

I have to say that I really like JJ (even if it's seen as being dirtier than asking for a pot noodle on this forum). My friends all perv on my colour Leia print. She is even hotter with tats and a blaster than the slave girl outfit.

Not a big fan of his tattoo series, though Leia does work for me.

I do like his Hello Boys pieces on aluminium and he has some other nice pieces as well.

Should of kept this a bit hush for longer FR. Very popular work right now, just look at ebay prices right now. I like his stuff too. Just got a 'Full Metal Twiggy' colour version. Nice!

I'm torn too, I like some of the Black and White Tatoo images. I can't believe a colour Diana made £3500 at auction last month. B/W Kate Middleton has to be a winner.

I really like some of his more pop art pieces. I've got several of his Star Wars prints. And some from his new release, like the delorean, droids pokers and tardis. They're fun images full of nostalgia.

I can't see the appeal of many of his other pieces tho.

He's really exploded in the last year, since his Star Wars release. With his latest release only taking 15 mins to sell out

So your a purist then. There is room for other things but i can see why some would not like it on an urban art forum. Maybe take a look at some of the buildings jj adams has done with graffiti if you need some 'urban'.
