JJ Adams π¬π§ Print Release β’ Exhibition β’ Art For Sale, by Deleted on Dec 23, 2015 19:58:16 GMT 1, Alot of his stuff is pretty average, but there are some real gems. His greedy Publisher is the only winner here and hes done a sterling job at building the hype to crazy levels! Prices falling will hopefully lead to some of the decent pieces becoming affordable again.
I like some of his work but Wishbone have really killed him as well as other artist's they look after......

JJ Adams π¬π§ Print Release β’ Exhibition β’ Art For Sale, by Ddog on Dec 24, 2015 2:29:28 GMT 1, The thing that gets me about JJ Adams is the whole hype train he came in on.
Don't get me wrong, he sold in volume and obviously made some decent cash out of it, fair play. It is what it is. The issue I've always had is that it's been sold as "investment" pieces. Whereas in reality, his work is furniture shop art at best.
No credibility, shoddy work, mass volume, shopping centre stall sales aswell as a publisher with a tarnished reputation doesn't do much for a successful career. If you sold his work high, well done. If you've bought high, or even bought at all, the reality of holding onto it because you like it rather than an investment will soon sink in.
But hey, that's what art is meant to be about, right?!

JJ Adams π¬π§ Print Release β’ Exhibition β’ Art For Sale, by dodsi on Dec 24, 2015 7:33:45 GMT 1, I think they just tried to go too big too quick - what they should have done was to keep the exclusivity that people crave so much.
Large volumes of High edition giclee prints sold in big cheap frames is not going to do that.
The new artist from the same publisher is 'Tom Lewis' and from what I can see the same thing is being attempted.
I get a feeling there will be a 'once bitten' effect here.

JJ Adams π¬π§ Print Release β’ Exhibition β’ Art For Sale, by Ddog on Dec 24, 2015 7:47:52 GMT 1, dodsi I totally agree with you. Greed is all it boils down to. Mass volume = more money. For a while, til people started seeing it for what it was. Now it's too late with a load of buyers who stockpiled believing (because it's what they were fed) they were sitting on a load of prints by the 'next banksy'.
I've mentioned him a few times on this forum, and I absolutely love his work, another wishbone published artist Dean Fox has been in the Lawrence Alkin gallery at the same show as Damien Hirst, Jeff Koons, banksy etc - I can't imagine JJ Adams ever managing that. His aluminium neon panels are out of this world, I might even start another thread on him, his work is a joke. Somehow he seems to have kept integrity and pulling out incredible work. I wonder how long wishbone will be able to hold onto him for...

JJ Adams π¬π§ Print Release β’ Exhibition β’ Art For Sale, by Chrisp on Dec 28, 2015 9:12:16 GMT 1, Just had a look at some of his stuff, looks Luke he churned out a ton of stuff since I first heard of him. What would the WDWD print been sold for at source? There is one on eBay with 11 bids for about Β£250. I paid very little attention to his stuff as it is definitely not my thing, no interest at all.

I quite like the soup can he did but have decided I would probably prefer a Sunday B Morning version.

JJ Adams π¬π§ Print Release β’ Exhibition β’ Art For Sale, by opi on Feb 18, 2016 1:47:21 GMT 1, So having spent too much, selling my colour Leia, offers around 1300 and a set of matching R2 prints (offers of around 2k) and even my Boba print (image not mine but it's the same framed print offers around 1600). It is Star Wars and Disney may not be pleased but..
For non-star wars fans, can always make an offer on the "dance with the devil ii" with wonderwoman and supergirl doing their thing.
Buyer to cover fees and due to the size of the images sticking to collection in Essex or London.

It's probably the childhood fantasy being ruined by the Force Awakens but somewhere between Endor and Kylo, she had some work done.

JJ Adams π¬π§ Print Release β’ Exhibition β’ Art For Sale, by Ddog on Feb 20, 2016 10:18:05 GMT 1, You won't achieve anything like the amounts you're asking for on these. Check eBay. Littered with unsold JJ Adams stuff.
A lot of people missed the boat on selling these at a profit. You'll be lucky to get your money out now!
The bottom fell out of these a long time ago, in a galaxy far far away

Didn't want to say anything but absolutely spot on, the market for JJ has been pillaged by flippers and over zealous publishers pushing for more releases. His Storm Trooper piece, TK421, has halved in value, last one on EBay went for Β£1200. It was selling for c. Β£3k less than 9 months ago. GLWS but you may need to review those prices.

JJ Adams π¬π§ Print Release β’ Exhibition β’ Art For Sale, by opi on Feb 20, 2016 17:42:51 GMT 1, Thanks for the feedback. All noted, I had gone with the lower estimated figures from a gallery less their commission. Offers around the prices were fine otherwise fall back plan is just to push them on to gallery who reckon they'll get more and who don't like ebay.
