Obviously, I like quite a lot of his work but I do understand what you guys are saying - the shadyness is something I have noticed. I don't think people flipping his work is unique to JJ, I had never purchased a piece of art until seeing his Wizard of Oz in a local gallery then buying it as an engagement present for me and the lady some weeks later. Then when picking that up saw the R2D2 and being a total nerd had to have that too. I feel it's very accessible art for plebs like me - but the popularity appears to be increasing.

A lot if the favourite artists on here I don't see the fuss about either but there appears to be a bit of snobbery around 'high street' art.

takes a artist normally months to sell a collection out from the publishers, took jj 6 hours to sell out his last collection, his originals have gone from 3k to 10k in a matter of months and that's not even second hand market which there being sold for 20k

So, the next JJ release is barely more than a week away. Personally getting very excited as to what will be coming and what there will be. 

Is there any other fans out there eagerly anticipating this?

Some big things happening with the RR auction thing but I doubt there would be a Rolls Royce print in the collection.

Nothing has been said or even hinted at on twitter from the JJ camp, only thing that has been shown is the free print they are giving away at some of the gallery releases.

I'm really interested to see what will be coming!

They went on eBay in the last 6 weeks for £1500 for the set.

The stand alone one goes for £1200+

There's a C3PO on eBay at the minute for £2650 (maybe more now!) which is astonishing! He is 24ct gold leafed up though

I have a set of the R2D2's in my collection which to me is one of the special numbers for such a set, I did have the first R2D2 but I sold it as essentially got an offer i couldn't refuse.

Has a set been offered to you and if so for how much?

I don't own any of JJ Adams work so not biased but judging on his C3PO & the single issue Dalek Soupcan prints, they are bucking the trend & increasing in price somewhat. Very collectable & a strong fan base too seemingly, especially with a new Star Wars film out later this year

Digital prints, plastic frames nothing to conservation standard, dubios selling techniques, every high street gallery up and down the country stocking his work sold by representatives in vans, higher prices than some Banksy = great marketing.

Yeah that's one thing I did pick up on...

Really poor quality frames & most of the images aren't that strong.

I can only make my observations on current eBay selling prices and how hard certain ones are to get like Dirty Disney, Princess Diana colour, C3PO & the R2D2 images...

He is about to bring out a new set of prints, rumours are back to the future theme. The r2d2 set are not keeping their cost on the secondary, I pulled out buying the set from a gallery on the drop, just because I didn't see any of these on going my wall. I was going to split the set with a mate and we are both glad we pulled out. I also have a feeling there is going to be a huge price increase. As mentioned above, these are basic prints with cheap frames. I like his Star wars stuff and got a black and white leia that I love but, I didn't buy for investment and would not recommend anyone who is thinking of purchasing as an investment.

On the other hand, he does have a market that is doing quite well at the moment, it can't be a bad thing that he has so many galleries selling his prints up and down the country. Does worry me that so many artists are going down the single management route as it creates only a limited outlet for selling their work,

I do not either care or not care for his work. I don't like how people in the JJ camp keep pushing up his prices up at point of sale and on ebay.....it's a total false market which will of course sort itself out, but I feel sorry for all the poor owners that have bought on the back of "its a great investment"

As for his work.....he copies all the urban/street/pop artist that have made a name for themselves and sells the work to the masses due to the fact most of them they have not seen works by Miss Bugs, Obey, Copyright, Bambi, RYCA, Banksy....etc etc

He is riding the coat tales of success, laid by the hard work of others.

I really like his work and not all his work is giclee prints, I have a lovely set of the screen printed stamps which we have just purchased as a wedding present to ourselves. The gallery and publisher really pulled out the stops to get me exactly what I wanted. This involved the publisher pulling them back from a different gallery that was not associated with the one i was buying from then removing from the frames, getting the artist to slightly change them by writing something on each one then reframing at my wifes request into white frames. I really don't think these guys have dubious selling techniques that is awesome customer service from all parties.

With regards to taking influence from other artist's? What's wrong with that? You would not have a Nissan skyline / Subaru impreza / Mitsubishi Evo without an Audi Quattro before them just because the old one is a classic doesn't detract from the modern cars greatness.

I appreciate there is some very dubious reseller's of his work and they often appear straight on eBay after release which is a massive shame and does create a falsely inflated market but it looks like its settling down and JJ himself is not exactly happy with this going on.

Just been to the brighton launch of his new collection, total chaos,like a new years harrods sale, people just going mad for his work. People buying 4-5 pieces at once. Never seen this before at a art show, bonkers
