I'm sure the circus canvas is out of my price range so I'm just going to make an honest guess at what I think it's worth. 16-20k USD depending on who the seller is (private/gallery/auction). But I am
bias towards that image-one of my favorites!

Hi all,

It's been a while since I've been on the boards and I was scanning some of dolks work when I noticed that the re-sale value of some of his prints has rocketed. Many years ago I picked up a 'Che' signed edition of 750 (if my memory serves me right) for about £70. Are these fairly common still? Much increase in price? I was lucky enough to have a rudecopper given to me as a present back in 2003 which is obviously on the house insurance but should I be considering adding the dolk to it as well?
Any advice would be appreciated!

Yeah somebidy kindly PM'd me and told me a similar price. Still not a bad amount for a print that cost me £70. I'm guessing if anyone breaks in they'll have the sense to steal the small expensive Banksy rather than this larger less valuable print. Thanks for the estimate!

Heck yeah, you did really well for yourself.  I think it's really underrated and one of his most iconic prints, I own one myself.  I think what hurts it a bit (compared to his most sought after prints) is simply the large edition size.

I am not looking to sell this work currently, but I am curious as to what others feel the fair market value of this one is at this point in time.

This is an original 1/1 canvas of Dolk's popular Prisoner image. It is very large. It is 43.5 inches wide x 55.25 inches tall for the canvas itself. Larger with the frame (58 inches x 46 inches). From 2009.

Here are a couple of pictures. Any input regarding current value would be appreciated. Thanks.

Wow, that's impressive! I'd have to think a tad higher than mentioned above since it's a 1/1. Usually his canvases are of an edition of 3 or 6 or more.

I was thinking and hoping it is worth more currently than what Erik said. My cost was definitely higher than that.

The editioned pieces typically go between £5-7k so reckon £11-12k is about right - this is GBP not USD if that makes a difference but think if you paid over that then you very likely bought in at the top or above the top of his market.

Its a nice piece and instantly Dolk but he is having a very slow 18-24 months now - im sure as soon as he starts 'doing stuff' again his market will kick back into life

Thanks. Yeah right now 12k gbp is about $18.6k. Definitely cost me more than that. But he didn't really want to sell it so it did take a little persuading. I really wanted it.

It's not really a one of as there are other Prisoner canvas out there at almost the same size. Fineart has a smaller one for sale and today I heard of another Prisoner a bit larger than the one at Fineart which is in a edition. 11-12£ may not be far of though, but I don't think you should expect more as it's really not a one of.

But this piece was made special, on a commission basis in 2009 and is a 1/1.

Just as an FYI, the Prisoner canvas that Fineart has is 40 x 40 inches. That is two-thirds the size of the work that I was posting about (if calculating overall square inches of canvas size). The price they are quoting is over $19,000 USD. Thanks.

I don't think I'm alone in saying this is one of Dolks best images - for disclosure I have on which I love, so I won't comment on price. I will say that me wants one !!
