Banksy Artwork, VALUATION, by NOLA on Feb 2, 2021 15:24:46 GMT 1, I may need to sell the following Bomb middle England, Queen Vic and Laugh Now, all unsigned low numbered in excellent condition and with pest Control certs. Believe me this is something I don't want to do, but a potential business opportunity has arose which I need finance for hence the possibility of selling my prints to fund the new project. I've just approached Sotheby's for their valuation (I do need max possible money for them) so I could potentially put them into their sale, they have come back with valuations of 7 - 9k fo Bomb Middle England, 15-20k Queen Vic and 12-18K Laugh now. Am I missing something !!! I have been keeping an eye on auction prints over the last year, and have kept up to date with Banksy print value.com.as probably everyone else has on this forum

Valuation is pathetically low and unrealistic

Unrealistic valuations are the worst aren’t they?

Banksy Artwork, VALUATION, by JFCC on Feb 3, 2021 13:35:06 GMT 1, The estimates are crazy low and is always a sense of frustration to most buyers and sellers. Yes it may get a few more potential buyers in the room but it cannot be many as 99% of people know the prices are ridiculous!
If I was selling I definitely would not use Tate Ward or Bonhams under any circumstances whatsoever. If I did use an auction house it would be Phillips, Sotheby's and Forum as they have got the best returns and are far and away the most professional. With that the online auctions seemed to get the best return last year? (I am sure somebody will have a stat on that?)
It also maybe worth talking to a friendly London gallery or try on here setting a firm price below "all up" but slightly ahead of the hammer price?
Laugh Now should sell very, very quickly! Good luck!

Banksy Artwork, VALUATION, by bishka1482 on Feb 5, 2021 12:20:10 GMT 1, Just been offered 60k for my unsigned love rat which I wasn’t looking to sell - would you go deal or no deal? Lot of money to turn down and possibility may be able to push them up but what a cracking print to have hanging on the wall. Any thoughts welcome.

You can only sell it once. Unless you need the money, I’d hang on to it.

Banksy Artwork, VALUATION, by rrrich on Feb 5, 2021 15:17:53 GMT 1, I've been away for a little while and have a few questions 1) What is the current value (insurance) of Very Little Helps and Sale Ends v2? 2) Peckham Rock, what's with that? £200-£300? Really? 3) Soup Can Posters, around £1K? Christie's valued VLH at GBP 50k to 70k recently for me for an upcoming Banksy auction they have. That said, major auction house valuations have been wildly off and sales prices have been all over (on the up) so I'd take that with a pinch of salt. Given recent auction results, I'd think for a signed, small edition it may go higher in spite of the perceived more limited appeal of the Tesco image.

Elsewhere is a post about how auction houses have increasingly put a percentage on the difference between the estimate and hammer price.. If that's true I'd be inclined to ignore the estimate especially for insurance purposes. If you had to replace a VLH at auction today you'd be looking at closer to £90k.

Lot of money to turn down and possibility may be able to push them up but what a cracking print to have hanging on the wall. Any thoughts welcome. Myartbroker? I had the same email today. The email says the buyer is willing to pay above market value for a quick deal. The fact is the last 3 at auction have cost the buyer more than 60k so i'd be looking for him to offer £70k if i was you. £65k net to you seems fair.
Mines not for sale btw!

Thanks before seeing this I had gone back and said that it was too low to induce us to sell when we hadn’t been considering selling! Interesting that he contacted you as well. Knowledge is power 😂

Got offered 60k on a Sale Ends V2 yesterday from a well known London gallery.
I'd be looking for 70k+ nowadays. If you can find one cheaper then I'd buy.

Banksy Artwork, VALUATION, by Rubys on Feb 6, 2021 2:13:11 GMT 1, I may need to sell the following Bomb middle England, Queen Vic and Laugh Now, all unsigned low numbered in excellent condition and with pest Control certs. I have been keeping an eye on auction prints over the last year, and have kept up to date with Banksy print value.com.as probably everyone else has on this forum. Sotheby's always low balls to get the bidders involved. Their goal is usually 3-5x the high estimate.

Banksy Artwork, VALUATION, by geminii on Feb 6, 2021 12:36:07 GMT 1, I’ve been on here for about 15 years during which time I’ve sold almost all my Banksy prints to pay for life’s unexpected little treats, like needing a new roof. Tidying up a box of paperwork and random bits this week I found some odds and ends I’d forgotten I had and which I never expected to be worth anything. I’ve got a Kate Moss postcard and an open set of Crude Oils postcards which I picked up at the exhibition itself, a Grafitti artists must report...sticker I won in a lucky dip or something at one of the Santa’s Ghettos ( I used to have loads but gave them away years ago), a couple of the small books including Cut it Out and Pictures of Walls and a Bristol Museum exhibition poster with the police. I’ve also got some other POW postcards like the usual Dolk etc and random flyers for other exhibitions like D Face etc from around the same time. Should I just stick them individually on eBay and hope to get a few quid for them or is there a better option? Ta.

I’ve also got some other POW postcards like the usual Dolk etc and random flyers for other exhibitions like D Face etc from around the same time. Should I just stick them individually on eBay and hope to get a few quid for them or is there a better option? Ta.

Banksy Artwork, VALUATION, by geminii on Feb 7, 2021 17:53:10 GMT 1, I’ve been on here for about 15 years during which time I’ve sold almost all my Banksy prints to pay for life’s unexpected little treats, like needing a new roof. Ta. Couple of grand worth there... I'd try here first tbh. I sold an open set of Crude Oils and the little books in a day, had lots of messages. Posters, stickers will go quick for decent money. The Dolk and other flyers not so much, but Banksy tat ephemera market is HOTHOTHOT right now.
Cheers Plurker, much appreciated. I’ve also found a part used roll of Chu/Banksy Polite Line tape too so I’ll add that to my list of stuff.
