Banksy Artwork, VALUATION, by dan993c2 on Jul 21, 2022 7:44:58 GMT 1, Thanks for the reply was hoping recent sales would be used as I’m up to date with the Banksy value site. Oh for transparency these are not my prints, researching for a friend 👍🏻 I don't understand why you're asking. You seem to know better. Tell your friend not to wait too long with the sale. Good luck I was under the belief that the Banksy value site hadn’t been updated recently. Don’t worry I have told them not to sell!

Good luck I was under the belief that the Banksy value site hadn’t been updated recently. Don’t worry I have told them not to sell! I try to update pretty frequently. Auction results should come every couple days (click individual print in the list) and that’s best way to form an opinion as you can see all results and make a decision yourself.
I also give a valuation range (“expert value”) but it’s pretty hard in current market, so I run that may be once a month. Should not be too far off, but you probably need to price a bit below that to be able to sell right now as others have mentioned

If you're looking for prices of private sales - they go even lower than the auctions - I think that's something logical.

I think that all depends on your personal circumstances and the view you’re taking. If you’re taking a short term view and have somewhere better to put the money or need the money then sure sell probably sooner rather than later. However if you are a collector and taking a 3-5 year view there is definite arguments for not selling into what is clearly a panicked market.

Banksy Artwork, VALUATION, by LJCal on Mar 24, 2023 3:55:49 GMT 1, How much do you recon the Fr(Agile) prints will sell for? Limited to 50 and signed, raffle over a million people entered. Do you think people will sell now or when they get the PEST coa in two years? I think plenty of people will buy and sell now and maybe slightly more when the COAs come out. They all went to lottery winners and I expect very few will want to keep them long term for many reasons, mainly it’s a life changing amount of money and many when they find out the value don’t know what to do in terms of insurance, storage and so on. Paying out hundreds or thousands of pounds to keep hold of it isn’t sustainable for the bulk of lottery winners especially when they know they can cash in and probably aren’t mega fans. Once these find their way to serious collectors then expect the availability and pricing to change a lot. That could take couple of years though.

Banksy Artwork, VALUATION, by LJCal on Mar 24, 2023 4:15:05 GMT 1, Just an interesting insight and although I’m not a massive fan of crystal ball gazing it does feel that the Banksy market is stabilising. Auction results are still very hit and miss with alot of lots failing to sell or falling in value from previous sales, however with some notable exceptions. I think private sales are showing signs of life and in many cases producing better results than auctions for buyers and sellers, I think sellers are wary of the risk of auctions (especially when the big houses are pushing low reserves) and so too are buyers, they want time to check what they’re buying and make sure they’re not getting a pup especially when it comes to condition. My personal view is that we could be getting close to a point of returning to sustainable albeit more modest growth, with the more desirable prints recovering quicker and returning to growth first. For me 2020 and 21 were an anomaly in fiscal policy that created bubbles all over the place and the B market was a big one. If we almost ignore what happened and follow the trend line from before it seems like we are getting near where we should be. See the below graph which I borrowed from the fantastic Banksy-Value (and added the trend line) and draw your own conclusions. Of course I could be way off especially with all that is going on in the world so please don’t go remortgaging your house to pile back into the Banksy market. If however you can afford it and have your eye on a certain piece that you really love maybe not the worst time to the plunge.

Banksy Artwork, VALUATION, by Jules Leotard on Mar 24, 2023 5:34:26 GMT 1, The sensible will never sell If you don't care about the value, keep hold of it. Because eventually the works will be worth peanuts ... Especially when the whole truth comes out 😉 I think the value of all of this (like everything else) fluctuates with money supply. When stuff hits the fan (which it is doing and will do worse when Q3 2023 rolls around and the developed world is 'officially' in a recession) prices will drop further. B will do better than others, but will still trend down. If Warhol ends up down 60%, Banksy will only suffer a 40% drop (i.e. you end up ahead, but still down). At the end of the day, regardless of what the whole truth you reference, but never divulge is, my mother is aware of 'Banksy'. If my mother knows of you, well, you are pretty bankable over the long haul (no pun...okay, pun intended).
If you want asset advice, buy some silver with your bank balance and hodl. It might not go up all that much (it might though), but it will hold it's value and you can avoid the impact of inflation.

Last u/s Toxic Mary hammered at £16k a few weeks ago at auction and would have cost the buyer £21k so go for the higher figure for insurance purposes. Given the current downward trend it might be difficult to find a buyer for much more than the hammer price but it’s possible. Not sure on the t-shirt. I think Tate Ward may have auctioned one or two so worth checking their results.

Banksy Artwork, VALUATION, by rockhopper on Apr 4, 2023 12:53:30 GMT 1, Hi
I'm considering sale of my Banksy Silver Flags, purchased by myself from Santa's Ghetto Tottenham Court Road London
Artwork is mint, framed by Art Republic Brighton
I believe I have the original receipt and care instructions, although I would need to check my files. I DO NOT have a pest control certificate,
Could anyone give me price as to what this piece is likely worth?
ThanksRH

I think a lot of people don’t mind taking the risk as long as the provenance is tight but it may still lower the price a bit. Not sure there’s a lot a fake flags out there.
I may be mistaken but I think art republic are known to have done some questionable framing in the past so might be worth any buyer checking it over out of frame before any deal is made.

Banksy Artwork, VALUATION, by embee on May 31, 2023 10:28:11 GMT 1, How would you value a Soup Cans poster, if you don't have a tube etc?
This was bought from a highly reputable London gallery who deal mostly with highly valuable pieces. They assured me that the person they acquired it from was a trusted buyer/seller with them, and that for them, there is zero need to take a reputational risk on a £700 (at the time - years ago) Banksy poster when they're regularly trading in £100k+ value prints. They were confident with the seller, and therefore took it on. So my working assumption is that it is real (or at least as likely real as any out there), but I have no proof of that (if a tube and some wrapping paper really counts anyway...).
So I have all the proof of that gallery purchase, but alas, it was without the coveted tube/paper, and no reasonable way of assuming real market value here... It's in perfect condition, always stored flat etc.
