Banksy Flying Copper Print, by corblimeylimey on Jan 30, 2007 16:13:56 GMT 1, you did well there mate - one on the bay now for BIN 1500!
It won't sell.
I want a flying copper, but I'm not going to pay any more than £700 if I can help it, and it's going to have to wait until my cash flow improves.

Banksy Flying Copper Print, by rkitek on Apr 11, 2007 1:37:14 GMT 1, I was wondering if anyone knows what a "reasonable" price would be for one? Thanks in advance.

Banksy Flying Copper Print, by tadghostal on Apr 11, 2007 3:13:02 GMT 1, Not many of these have been available publicly. I've seen 3 on ebay worldwide since the end of January. One of them had quite a bit of creasing and seemed to be re-listed several times. One was framed with museum glass and the works, it went for $2500. The third and final was bid up to $1300 until the final 5 seconds when it was sniped for around $1450. ;D
The print really is a great one, though. Large, bright, and the image has a bit of a nice over-spray effect to it. At least mine does. Frankly, were it not for the lucky snipe, I would have been willing to pay around $2k. So who knows? I can say that the large print run should play out in your favor. But it is a great image, and one that many people will find themselves loathe to let go of.
In any case, have you got one lined up to buy? Are you just trying to tie down your price?

Banksy Flying Copper Print, by rkitek on Apr 11, 2007 3:22:28 GMT 1, I may be able to put my hands on one as part of a trade so I'm trying to determine what its value might be in the event that I decide to sell once I get it.
If I do get it, I'll let you know if you're interested.

Banksy Flying Copper Print, by tadghostal on Apr 11, 2007 4:16:05 GMT 1, Right. Thanks for the offer though. Out of curiosity, care to share what you're trading for it? And it sounds like the FC might be part of a package being given in trade for something quite special. That's just me reading between the lines, so I may be way off base. But if not, do share.

anything under 1k is probably reasonable, depends who ends up bidding on ebay, wether it's raining, a full moon, what day of the week it is and your favourite colour can all affect the sale price.

Banksy Flying Copper Print, by bond on Apr 11, 2007 9:38:50 GMT 1, hi - i think it's one of the best prints and seems to be pretty rare ebay wise - I paid £ 600 a few months back.
Mine does have slight creasing at the bottom and to be honest most i've seen for resale also have this due in the main to the fact that it is printed on card like paper.

Banksy Flying Copper Print, by rkitek on Apr 11, 2007 16:14:25 GMT 1, Thanks for the information everyone, I appreciate. If I do get it and decide to sell, I'll offer it up on the forum first for anyone that might be interested.
To answer your question Tadghostal, it's only a possible addition to cash for an original piece by another artist that I'm considering selling. Because nothing has been firmed up I'm not at liberty to say much more than that just now.

Banksy Flying Copper Print, by lesroy on Apr 11, 2007 21:09:17 GMT 1, I love this print... the more I look at it the more it becomes one of my favourites... I go through phases of having favourites but this one is something special...
You will love him if you ever get him...
I agree with Numusic, under a £1000 is a good price As its a little cheaper than Laugh Now etc due to the hassle with framing the big guy

Banksy Flying Copper Print, by rolyateel on Oct 31, 2006 22:01:24 GMT 1, hi everyone
help please...
i have been sent a 2nd chance offer on a flying copper. My bid was £650
I know one was recently on ebay for £1000 buy-it-now or best offer, and I offered £600 and was rejected, as were 2 others who both offered £950.
My problem is that the one i've now been offered has pin holes at all 4 corners.
What do u all think this does to the value...obviously it detracts slightly...but it's not like it's marked torn or creased.
your opinions would help
cheers

First up, make sure it is a genuine second chance offer and that the message is in your ebay inbox and not just your mail server. I guess this print can be framed fine without the pinholes showing, so if you're buying for the image to be on your wall, no problem. You're getting it cheap, and its resale value will always be less than an unmarked one.. but as the price of prints go up, so will yours. Then again, I personally wouldn't buy it.. I'd always know there were pin holes behind the frame.. but that's just me

Banksy Flying Copper Print, by trowel on Oct 31, 2006 22:51:26 GMT 1, I picked up a mint Flying Copper off eBay at the weekend for little over £700. The holes obviously bother you, and they'll show clearly in a standard 100x70 frame, so you'll need a custom frame made to hide them or clever use of mounting. If you're prepared to have a little patience FCs have been cropping up for sale about once a fortnight recently, selling for between £620-£850.
Should also mention I've had THREE fake second chance emails in the last fortnight, including one for an auction I won - prats

Same for me, but over on the other side there is a post by Lucy I think (maybe Nu can help?) where she has got a really cool mount cut for it that would cover them up, and has a circle cut out where the stamp is. Very cool idea.
