Banksy Flying Copper Print, by spence on Apr 15, 2006 8:14:48 GMT 1, I wonder how much they will buy one from us ( if they do this ) and what their mark up would be. Needless to say they will try and buy it for peanuts.

Banksy Flying Copper Print, by gm on Dec 2, 2006 2:21:47 GMT 1, I was in there last week.
You're right about PF and BH, but the Flying Cop that's due in is one of the cardboard cut out ones from Turf War, and it's going to cost a lot more than £2K.

Yep, £500 seems to be the going rate at the minute for an unsigned Flying Copper ;D But I would think that the price has nowhere near peaked for that print Colour background, Massive 70x100, Classic Banksy Image, Snap it up! ;D

Banksy Flying Copper Print, by funster on Dec 8, 2007 23:29:59 GMT 1, Having spent the afternoon putting up some newly framed prints I was a bit worried by a massive crashing sound coming from upstairs while watching the boxing... ironically my Flying Copper had taken a tumble, bounced off the bed and landed on the floor! Thankfully (in a major league way!) it was completely unharmed, but did lead me to wonder if anyone else has had any mishaps with their art??...

Sounds like the print is knackered and the experience has mentally affected you. Probably best you send it over to me so the flash backs can stop. I'll find something in my portfolio to send over and take its place or I could get you a nice new Rementer off POW

Banksy Flying Copper Print, by uglyiq on Jul 28, 2007 4:09:42 GMT 1, Flying Copper - Unsigned - For Sale or Swap from POW edition numbered to 600 - Low Number (sub 100) Numbered Right Hand Side - Banksy Tagged Dimensions: Big F***er (700mm x 1000mm if you want to get technical) Condition: Excellent - Framed immediately after purchase Available w/ or w/out Frame - Buyers Choice Note - Perhaps due to low number this print does appear to be noticeably more vivid in colour than other identical prints I've seen from the same run but with higher Edition Numbers. This was also the case w/ my signed Bomb Hugger (#2_/150) and the Happy Chopper (#2_/150) Purchased Ghetto 2003 Full Provenance - Original Ghetto Receipt / Payment Slip
Wanted: Lucy Mclauchlan : Peeps Series / Televisual / Uncertain / Peepers Straight Swap or Cash Adjustments depending on what's on offer -or- Micallef : FF / SMS / Angel 1 / Angel 2 - nb NOT JD Straight Swap or Cash Adjustments depending on which of the Mic's
Location: London Ideally Buyer/Swapper to collect but will Deliver in Person within reasonable Distance & provided I don't need a canoe to reach you... (sorry no Postal Swaps but will Post if Cash Sale)
Please PM for Pics w/ an email contact I will reply to all PM's as quickly as possible & update everyone prior to final Sale -
About Me: I bought a number of Banksy pieces between 2003 & 2004 all have full watertight provenance & receipts from Santa's Ghetto or POW. All pieces were bought in person & either Registered in My name or have Original Ghetto Hand-Written Paper receipts w/ item description + Payment Slip. I am also an established eBayer with 100% feedback. (I sell vinyl not art - see below) "Seller Provenance" refs available from other Forum members.
Thanks to everyone who responded to my other recent sales & swaps (threads June 4 6.58pm & June 3 11.32pm) ...All the pieces found happy homes with Forum members...
PLEASE NOTE: I have not, do not & hopefully will never sell any of my collection on eBay - nothing personal against those that do but I much prefer dealing w/ Forum members so you can rest assured I'm not here fishing for BIN prices or any other nonsense. This sale starts & finishes on the Forum or the Piece stays on my wall... Likewise anything I receive as a Swap is strictly for Personal Consumption & won't be winging it's way onto eBay 6 months later either...

Banksy Flying Copper Print, by Imoy-San on Jul 30, 2007 11:44:14 GMT 1, Pity you don't want Lucy's "Forest", and I'd be able to help.
As for the forum and Ebay - sometime you just don't have a choice. I've listed my first print ever on Ebay. Not my ideal situation, but...
Good luck with the trade, hunt, and sale.

Banksy Flying Copper Print, by frankie3142 on Jun 11, 2007 4:04:26 GMT 1, Hi I am the person selling this Banksy print. I thought I'd make a few comments that will hopefully clarify a few points mentioned by the other gossipers here.
eBay.com The reason it's on ebay.com is that, in my opinion, the .com site has a larger audience that any of the country ones including the UK. UK residents read the .com site (as you have all demonstrated) whereas I'm not convinced that North Americans and people from the rest of the world beat a path to eBay.co.uk when they are shopping - in my view anyway.
No UK shipping price This is of course nonsense and indicates that 'bond' hasn't read the auction item well if at all, since the UK shipping price is clearly indicated in the body of the text there.
Copy of receipt. Yes I have more than one item on the same receipt, so not everyone can have the original receipt. A copy, together with POW's own records are sufficient provenance. If you're disturbingly uber paranoid, get the name from POW, go to the phone book (mine's a very uncommon name and I'm in the book) and ring up POW's purchaser to see if it's me (the eBay seller) - I'll confirm it for you!
Will it reach the reserve? Who knows? I hope so. I was offered $12k by three different bidders last month (I had to cancel the auction due to a technical error with the ad) and I saw the disturbing 'Napalm' go for around the same price at around that time, so it seems to be ball-park an accurate valuation. Maybe I'll be disappointed, maybe not - we'll soon see
Frankie.

Banksy Flying Copper Print, by tadghostal on Jun 25, 2007 19:29:47 GMT 1, I'd say its certainly a popular print, and "rare" is in the eye of the beholder. Wasn't this run 750 including signed and unsigned? With 6.5 Billion people on the planet (most of whom would undoubtedly be a Banksy fan if they were aware of his work), then 750 is criminally rare. But compared to a Radar Rat, there is an absolute plethora of Flying Coppers. ;D
So, its a hard question to answer.
And although bombhugger's opinion is that the print is not worth 2500, I'm not really sure I can agree with him on that. Really, it is totally up to you. As all of us have been made painfully aware over recent months, weeks--even days on some occasions--the past is not a very useful guide in determining prices.
The reason I say this is because I was given similar advice when searching for my first couple of Banksy's. Very helpful, respectable and well-intentioned members told me how much a print "should" cost. I started trying to find said prints, and passed on a handful that were above that price. The problem was, each consecutive opportunity was further and further away from that target price. My search for a better deal ended up costing me a 400 pound premium on one print, and a 200 pound premium on another. Mind you, that premium was NOT based on the "should" price; it was based on the first prints I had an opportunity to buy, but chose to pass on. Compared to the "should" price, it was 700GBP on the first, and 400GBP on the second.
When people ask what a print is worth, I always like to know "Compared to what?" Considering you can't go back in time to buy the most recently sold print (at that most recently sold price), and considering the fact you can only buy what is available--the question becomes, "What do you believe?"
If you believe you'll have another shot at a print, and at a lower price--then by all means wait. But if you believe that the popularity will continue to buoy prices, then the luxury of waiting (and not having your print) might cost you dearly.
Personally, I believe the most recent sales have been around 700-800GBP. Since that time, a handful of prints have seen 2-300 pound increases, so who knows. I don't believe FC is worth 2500, but I also am not in the market to buy or sell one--so who cares what I believe.
(it is a damn fine print though! I hope you get one for much, much less than 2500. )

Banksy Flying Copper Print, by corblimeylimey on Jun 25, 2007 19:30:15 GMT 1, Was around £800 - £900 but I don't think one has come up since the unsigned price hike which has put a couple of hundred on most prints it seems (it's all happened very quickly) so my guess would be about £1000.
