Shes young and the collages are comic super heros and comic super heros never go out of fashion.
Reminds rich old guys of their youth too. Good looking women combined with comic super heros. Can't go wrong really.

New Sandra Chevrier print`s , by dotdot on Feb 27, 2015 20:41:47 GMT 1, Sandra's work, whether one likes it or not, is very flippable... Let's see where this print is in five-seven years... Reminds me of a children's party game, where players gather around and toss an object to each other while music is played. "The player who is holding the "hot potato" when the music stops is out."
flippable - is it a doing word a state of mind or.. a phase ? the image which came into my head when you mentioned the kids game... was one of mr walken when in the deer hunter a gun became the tool of someone else's choice...
fine film..
who is sandra btw ?

My prediction is that the market for 'street art' like this will have bottomed out well before then. With the exception of a few artists that have been accepted outside of it.

I agree and provincial sale rooms often have ltd editions for very low prices that were sold previously by galleries for expensive prices.
Rareity counts a lot and some of todays artists and galleries who churn out ltd editions month by month sometimes by the same artist reminds me of when dali was old and frail and surrounded by people who persuaded him to produce a constant supply of ltd editions as an easy way of making money.
Dali had the decades of painting and the skill and a global name though.
Some of todays artists I get the feeling are milking it because they know nothing lasts forever.

I doubt that street art is bottoming out anytime soon. This style of art is going very strong amongst the college age crowd, and they are only gaining more and more purchasing power... They are just currently poor, otherwise Street Art would be even more inflated.
I ask my assistants (all recent grads) and they all know Banksy and can describe his work. But they have no clue who Jasper Johns is. I think the market is gonna be strong for quite a while until another scene emerges.

New Sandra Chevrier print`s , by Deleted on Feb 27, 2015 21:04:39 GMT 1, Street art is here for a long time and there will always be galleries that sell it. I think Chevrier will go up incrementally and some street artists will do well while others could go out of fashion.
It's a fickle world the gallery and dealer and auction house network.
I'm glad that so far the big auction houses haven't done a secret deal to only accept living artists that are sold by certain dealers.

It seems there is only decent money to be made from buying banksy's. That's why they are all selling so quick, and no supply either. I would never have thought the unsigned prints would go for thousands like they are now, it's crazy...

In the 1960s, airline pilot Paul Sanderson regularly visited the stamp dealers that then lined The Strand in London, and even popped along to a few auctions to bid for items, as he amassed a sizeable collection of mint or near-perfect British stamps. He tucked them away imagining that one day they could be worth a bob or two, or at the very least form a prize collection to be passed on to his heirs.
Sadly, both hopes have been dashed. His grandchildren have shown no interest – "why would they, when they have their iPods and iPads," he says – so he decided to put his collection up for sale instead. He checked the values placed on his stamps by the Stanley Gibbons catalogue, still the trade's bible, and put them up on eBay. But his heart sank when he began to realise just how little stamps now fetch on the open market.
The same will probably be said for prints in the 2050's

Most prints, absolutely. Few will flourish and remain important in representing the era and their original art will be the ticket.

Knowing who Banksy is is like knowing who Madonna is - he has mainstream pop culture awareness.

Having an awareness of Banksy does't make one part of the intelligentsia.

New Sandra Chevrier print`s , by Deleted on Mar 1, 2015 21:01:50 GMT 1, Such a bland comment, you seem smart but stuff like that is hanging and incomplete. A handful of people in each culture become collectors. The point is, and always was, that graffiti and streetart which is now urban contemporary and post graffiti fine art, which is the largest genre of artists in history, will continue to grow and be collected among future generations because of main stream popularity such as banksy, etc. There are more and more young collectors each day, buying up all kinds of art genres, and millions of people watching the show, in hopes one day they'll be able to own something from these artists.
in a way I hope they will, but in another way I hope the works of the artists we collect today become a big part of art history and are attainable by the few that got in early, us.

Hope COA are fast to ship their prints ?

He and his over-saturated photographs are not exactly recognised by the art establishment himself isn't it? That is quite funny coming from him. People who buy his pretty photos thinking it is good investment are equally clueless, ha.

Hope COA are fast to ship their prints ? Already sent the third on friday. The remaining will be shipped monday and tuesday.
So soon? Guess I need to find money for import taxes then.. Well anyway. Back to Sandra. I like her. Bought my print to hang on my wall. I wonder how I gonna frame my 'Tears' print when I get it. Floating in a black frame? Or maybe a white frame? Hope COA are fast to ship their prints ? Already sent the third on friday. The remaining will be shipped monday and tuesday.
