A surprising number of people willing to let go so soon, a print that has received much love and praise on here - well I guess it's good news for all those that want one and are patient.

Smart arse? Being able to use a tape measure in the art collecting world is a basic function... Buying a print and selling at "market value" now that's being a smart arse...

Call it what you want, when you say what you said and link to what you did, you chose to be a dick. I chose to respond in kind. At least have the balls to stand by what you said instead of trying to say I misunderstood or overreacted.
And if you don't like people selling things for market value, get out of the art game. Because no one owes you a good deal. Sometimes you get one, sometimes you don't.

Sometimes people buy to frame? Sometimes they buy to flip?! Aslong as you don't act all so innocent!? No harm done? Just be honest about making a quick buck at the expense of others...
for example if someone were to send out a PM on the day of release... "I sent out a bunch of pm's. What are you willing to pay?"
would this his be flipper behaviour or someone who had just realised the size of the print they haven't seen?

I won't apologize for having second thoughts about prints I've purchased. That's just what happens when people are forced to rush into buying just so they don't miss out.
In my time collecting, I've sold maybe... 5 prints. So yeah, call me a flipper all you want. 5 prints does not a flipper make.

I don't have a problem saying if I'm going to sell something, I want what it's worth, even if that's more than cost of purchase.

Conor Harrington • The Unveiling , by mrchristopherrobinso on Oct 29, 2014 1:51:44 GMT 1, The amount of effort/risk it takes to buy-hold-flip makes it a very unlucrative practice. If you calculated the profit vs time a flipper makes; what would their hourly rate be? Reminds me of sneaker flippers that wait days in line to sell shoes for $1000 markup. Why argue with someone who is obviously defensive because they are not very well off and desperate to make a buck? I have had many times in my life when I didn't even have a wall to hang my art on. If I could make a buck hustling, flipping or whatever; that was my business. I appreciate that I can buy art I want from somebody after it is sold out. Thankfully not everybody puts it on the wall or I wouldn't get some of my most sought after pieces.

You flip your print on the bay or here, that takes about 15 minutes of your time. You wait for the tube to arrive, stick a different address on it and boom, £200/500 in profit. That makes for a nice hourly?

Would like to trade for Faile, Invader, stik or open to other ideas. I collect lots of modern art by minimalist and abstract expressionist artists as well, although not popular on this forum. Cash either way. I've got about $900 / £575 in the Harrington.
Thanx, Aaron Email cmodart at gmail.
