F.S. Signed applause, by china man on Jan 18, 2015 22:00:09 GMT 1, Hi guys, looking to sell my signed applause. It comes with c.o.a. And is framed to museum standard in grey (looks stunning) I know people are scared of its size but it looks fantastic on my front room wall. Looking for 7.5k without starting any wars and people leaving the forum. ? thanks, based in kent so pick up only if serious.

Only hindsight will tell, it is probably worth posting a picture as its framed

F.S. Signed applause, by Oski on Jan 19, 2015 3:19:14 GMT 1, This is a very good price for a signed Applause. There were only 150 signed POW versions and they don't seem to come up that often. But it's always lagged in value vs. Banksy's more popular images, which I believe is because:
(1) The overall edition is big, with 750 prints including unsigned and the ones from LA. (2) It's one of the sloppiest executions, with rushed Photoshop deletions of background scenes, a cut up pastiche of a couple of panels (can see the lines where he cut and paste). (3) Utilization of stock photo images (of the aircraft carrier).
But I think it's really undervalued because: (1) It's a huge print, probably the largest of Banksy's POW prints, so it's really a statement piece on the wall and by far the best value per square inch (it's about the same price as a Soup Can and it's more than 4x bigger). (2) The roughness is to me part of the street art aesthetic, and I love the ad hoc feel. (3) Only 150 signed, which is much less than other print releases of that time and after (that same year Morons had 450 signed and Trolleys had 900 signed!!). Yet both Morons and Trolleys generally sell for more. (4) I like the anti-war/military industrial complex message.
I actually just saw one in person for the first time last week and it is a stunning print, much cooler in the flesh than in the pictures. I fully expect the upcoming Bonham's auction to elevate this print's price point in a meaningful way.
Cheers on the seller to come right out and state a great fixed price without making this a hazy best offer over X and maybe he'll think about selling scenario.

F.S. Signed applause, by Happy Shopper on Jan 20, 2015 12:55:27 GMT 1, I think people say it's a great price because they own one (or other Banksy prints) haha
One of these was on ebay recently for just under ยฃ7k, and doesn't look like it sold... but a terrible looking listing that doesn't seem to mention if it's signed or not... so not much use as a guide!
I was looking for one a year or 2 ago, when they were more like 5k... but couldn't find one.

F.S. Signed applause, by china man on Jan 20, 2015 13:11:21 GMT 1, I know prices have moved on and people are saying your mad to sell a signed one nowadays, so if I don't get it I suppose I should hang on to it or take an offer? Just not in a mad rush to sell at the mo.

I am sure a lot on here get random members asking will they sell so and so print even tho it was never put up for sale. I have really had some crackers, even got a few last year from a member wanting to buy a print that I had for sale at 50% less than advertised and when I declined they get all hot and bothered. I actually find it amusing, sad but amusing. All part of life's rich tapestry

I'd keep it - plenty of wall presence or try for a nice U/S trade - like a HC & cash - that would look great on the wall too.

Try your luck fine, but don't insult me! Rant over, how is everyone? I said i think it is a fair price.... That doesn't mean people will agree and pay that amount on this print. And by stating that i think it is a fair price doesn't mean i think it is cheap. I just think the price justifies the print and vice versa. In no way i meant it was a bargain.
But personally i like the image, like the story behind it and like the fact that it is signed. I don't want to spend that much on this print though
But good luck with the sale!

To be fair, four people said it was a good price, which is hardly everyone, A fair price is what a buyer will pay, not what tyre kickers say is fair.
I'm curious, just how many pieces are sold to those who post about 'amazing', 'great', 'wow' prices? Frankly, it's awfully tedious reading those comments. Other than Oski, all comments on this thread, including mine, are pretty pointless. As my old nanna used to say, 'Piss, or get off the pot.'
