Like many others, my mad search for an "Invaded Scream" continues. If you have a copy, know where I may find one, or have any irrelevant but interesting existential insight, please PM me. No death threats this time, please.

Invader Scream Print, by balubza on Sept 4, 2013 0:04:48 GMT 1, Think that price is insane! It's a hard sought-after print, but 1800 euro is way beyond what I think someone will pay for that. Had a look at the other prints they were selling, and over-all very overpriced.
But thanks for sharing the link!

Invader Scream Print, by miamivice on Jan 11, 2014 23:02:15 GMT 1, Hi,
Does anyone have an opinion on how much Invaded Scream by Invader should go for these days (edition of 50)? I've had a look around and recent sales vary a lot in price. Also, what sort of premium (if any) would you attach to an AP?
I am fairly new to his work and I really like what I have seen but at the same time I am getting a feeling it is somewhat repetitive. Would be interested in hearing people's thoughts...
Cheers,
MV

Invader Scream Print, by alittle on Jan 11, 2014 23:47:45 GMT 1, I was offered one about 4 months ago for 1000GBP. If you are actively seeking, you might be a little worse off. Ultimately, I passed, but it sold reasonably quick at that price.

Invader Scream Print, by maddoghoek100 on Jan 11, 2014 23:53:16 GMT 1, What recent sales? I was not watching these but, i dont think i ever saw that many of these move publicly and the ones that did were right after the release. i know a bunch of folks that would be very keen to add one to their collection and there are some standing offers out there at or around USD $1200 so i would think more than that would be the ask of most sellers.
I may be wrong but the Munch woodcuts were the first ever sold by invader as an edition and he has not sold a woodcut since. So 2 does not seem that repetitive.

Invader Scream Print, by kbfrombk on Jan 11, 2014 23:55:14 GMT 1, I may be wrong and would love to be corrected but in my eyes APs are, if anything, somewhat less valuable than a print numbered within the logged edition. By default I usually tend towards thinking the APs are somehow 'unfinished' or at the very least not the 'final' product.
Now I'm aware some artists will use the AP route as an opportunity to hand-finish a couple individual prints, making them 'unique' from the numbered edition but usually, if I don't see that type of thing mentioned, then I default to the prior thinking.

Invader Scream Print, by Icesay on Jan 11, 2014 23:58:18 GMT 1, I recon you should do your research and decide how much you want to pay. If you know about the artist then you can make your own mind up if his work is repetitive. Its worth as much as you want to pay.

Invader Scream Print, by maddoghoek100 on Jan 12, 2014 0:05:53 GMT 1, APs depend on the artist. If you were for instance talking about Andy Warhol APs they are unique to the edition and all had different color and finishing techniques applied. Some would suggest that his process for selecting the final version of the print had less to do with which was best and more to do with which was most easily replicated. They are unique and carry a sizable premium.
I think that has long since gone by the wayside for most APs. They are realy just part of the numbers edition and should be included in the overall view of the total edition size and given to the artist to sell directly. Most people forget that there are also printers proofs and H.C.s floating about. I think hors de commerce sort of fell out of vogue but if you are buying work from the 70s and 80s it is very common
As you say some artists hand embellish or sketch them to add some mystique but i am not aware of invader doing that. As said above, invader is worth exactly what you are willing to pay. Some people think it is absolutely absurd to pay a penny for a tile mosaic worth less than a dollar in materials cost. Other are literally willing to risk their lives climbing onto a bridge to steal one. to each their own.

Invader Scream Print, by madeinnorway on Jan 12, 2014 0:22:40 GMT 1, Think the pricing suggestions here are way way off, was an AP on here some months ago and it went for lots more than prices mentioned. A regular edition was on here for 2000£ and it sold so if you find one under 2000£ your lucky and that is if you can find one that someone wants to sell, have been looking for one now for months and still no Luck.
